'cause rock is cool but the struggle is better

Same girl. New site. Queer, polyam, bi-polar fangirl with eclectic tastes. Vidder. Multifannish AF. Kind of obsessed with figure skating. Once got a concussion from a cat.
Drove up to the cottage late last night with only Chesterfield for company. Pulled into the driveway and came to a stop just as U2's A Sort of Homecoming ended on the stereo. I am coming home, indeed.
I drove back to the cottage and woke Marna up to say the cat had made a runner and I'd missed him. Mid-conversation we were interrupted by a loud meow. He had decided to come home on his own. At least we know he knows the way. (The screen has since been reinforced)
In other Chesterfield adventures, a few days after we brought him up here he managed to bust through the screen door like the Kool-Aid man and escape in the night. The next morning we managed to track him via his AirTag to under the neighbour's garage.
Yesterday Chesterfield discovered: A) that he could scale these wicker shelves like a tree and walk along the tops of the walls, and B) that there is a window with a deep sill that is an excellent place to curl up and admire the outdoors. It was a very exciting day.
I could get used to this view. I CAN get used to this view. It's ours now and I can have it every sunny summer morning if I like.
💜💜💜💜💜 I'm on my way home to my kitten, having just spent a week with a pair of delightful calicos.
Wandering around beautiful Arundel castle thinking about how much death, destruction and theft is elided by polite terms like "acquired," and "collected."
Seen around the corner from my hotel in Portsmouth
I got caught in a downpour without shelter and the wind broke my umbrella. I'd been planning to take a bus, but broke down and called an uber as soon as I found shelter. I was genuinely still dripping when I got back to my hotel.
This is Georges, I picked him up in Lascaux. He's named after Georges Guingouin, because the day after Lascaux we went to the Museum of the Resistance in Limoges. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges...
Today in bullshit my body just does sometimes: a mystery rash running from the side of my neck down to my cleavage. It's not a contact reaction. And it's not bug bites. It is one of a few specific places on my body that these rashes always show up. I have so much nothing.
I look ridiculous wandering around the house like this, but it does help remind me not to use my eyes too much. (Migraine day two)
Would you like a perfect kitten in a basket?
I was up extremely late last night vidding in the living room. After several hours of firmly telling me to come to bed every time I got up for any reason, Chesterfield finally gave up and curled up with me in the living room.
An handsome man waiting for his breakfast this morning.
Kitten says, pay attention to meeeeeee!
This darling asshole can't seem to decide if my bed is for sleeping on or peeing on, and yet I love him and keep letting him back onto the bed.
I keep seeing that "post somebody who looks good in a dress" meme going around and it's all various celebrity pictures, but my immediate reaction was, "I look great in a dress!" So, here, have a picture I forgot to post in December of me looking great in a dress.
I think he's trying to tell me something.
I had to very carefully extricate myself from under the dog to get a picture of Chesterfield's blissed-out little face. These two don't typically cuddle like this! This is exciting and new!
We have progressed to almost cuddling!
Two sleepy boys doing their best to make me believe in naps.
Today in speech-to-text texts from my mother.
Throwback to 2021, when Dreadful and I tried and decidedly failed to recreate my user icon. (rip to the best kitten)
Are we going to address this in any way? Of course not! But we are going to casually put Joy back in the closet in the second-to-last paragraph and assume all her friends are straight while we're at it.
No, the article would not. We are moving right along. Paragraph 30, the one that made me want to do this breakdown in the first place. The one where we find out that Joy? The woman from our very first paragraph? Yeah, Joy is QUEER.
