We have a new baby, named Buddy. We lost lovely Middy in 2021, our beloved Sonny in 2024, and our sweet little Poppy just three weeks ago. Now we have Buddy, another stray we took in (all of cats have found us as strays).
Since I didn't want to pay for AI to make my inspirational picture of myself with a giant cat, I did it myself. Guys, I feel my creative rut lifting.
Wow, I think making a picture of myself with a giant animal will finally pull me out of my rut and get the creative juices flowing again. Thank you AI!!!
This seat is $800 more than the steerage class I sat in. $800 for more leg room. And they sell! Every one was taken.
July 16 and the local grocery store already has up the Halloween candy. That's really cutting it close, I would've gone with May 16, myself.
This short passage from Night Flight perfectly describes how I feel each morning when I wake up.
My favorite section on the TCM category of HBOMax is the "Just Added, Leaving Soon" section. You've got to be quick to see the movies in this section.
This had me curious since there is not a single unreleased album only song by the Beatles that has been forgotten, much less a number one hit, and sure enough, these are five classics that the writer desperately wants to convince himself are forgotten. They are not.
This is the viewpoint of a catastrophically stupid human being. You cannot turn around someone this staggeringly dumb. So, yeah, I'm glad Robert Reich thinks America is roaring back but, Jesus, is that some pie in the sky thinking.
I knew this post of mine would get little love because, Christ have mercy, do people love to believe that the country is ready to stand up together, that even maga folks are coming around. Jfc. These Trump voters think he's great and they always will. You cannot sway them.
I watched Boogie Nights again last week for the first time in years and despite how good to great everyone is in it, there's an argument to be made that Alfred Molina gives the greatest performance out of everyone.
I watched The Outer Limits episode The Forms of Things Unknown yesterday (dp Conrad Hall) and it was, without question, one of the best lit and photographed episodes of a television show I have ever seen. Screenshots cannot do justice to how expertly Hall works the camera.
Spokeswoman: "Unlike other wafers, Satellite Wafers are filled with ass!"
Mediocre throwaway jokes now get entire articles. Present day entertainment writing depresses me in a way that makes me feel utterly broken as a human being.
She did not reference the Bible, she wrote a two page fundamentalist diatribe. Read it yourself, it's online. It's frighteningly extremist. This is a person who forcefully resists independent thought. Honestly mystified she is at any university outside of an extremist Christian college.
I just think it's cool that Emily Blunt does the weather in an evening gown.
I always mix up Cleo Abrams with Julie Nolke. Either I see Abrams and ask, why is Nolke doing a science video, or I see Nolke and think, oh, Abrams does comedy now. I usually figure it out after a minute or so. Usually.
I have always enjoyed how Tippi Hedron, outraged, sends an entire shipload of birds to Rod Taylor. Hijinks ensue.
Two things here. One, we have officially arrived at the point $8.99 for a chocolate bar is considered *NOT* a premium price tag. Two, Dubai chocolate cannot die fast enough for me. "Hey, we're a theocracy that will imprison or possibly execute you for being gay or trans but look at our chocolate!"
Really? One, it was less of a series than a collection of made for broadcast movies. Two, very few shows *don't* get good reviews these days as an unsettling amount of television "critics" like everything they see, and three, Jeremy Brett was a hell of a lot better as Sherlock Holmes.
This one is my infinity whiskey. Any whiskey bottle gets down to one or two fingers, it goes in the infinity bottle.
