Just rewatched Fight Club for the first time in like 20 years. Went to log it on @letterboxd.social and well, this is pretty cool:
I know the world is a scary place tonight, but as a little timeline cleanse I'm here to say that SENTIMENTAL VALUE is a beautiful, beautiful film.
Deftones, Birmingham. The best gig I have ever been to. CHANGE (IN THE HOUSE OF FLIES) was iconic. Still on a high.
It's sad that my local @showcasecinemasuk.bsky.social has failed to screen NO OTHER CHOICE, despite advertising it as part of their 'Spotlight' promotion and, after I emailed them to query, assuring me they would screen it a week after release (they did not). MELANIA however is on twice tomorrow.
I know this is small fry in the today's global landscape, but genuinely dispiriting today to see two new podcasts in the Film History chart taking top spots which appear to be entirely AI generated.
What can I say, I'm a man of impeccable taste (also I attended TERRIFIER-Con last year)
#StrangerThings comes into land with a solid finale. Definitely a step up from Vol2, but struggled to maintain a sense of genuine stakes. Still, the fact that the whole franchise has consistently been a 4* average is a minor miracle
Last book of the year. A mixed bag - as most anthologies are - but despite no standouts there are enough creepy moments (particularly in final story RAT) to make it worth the price of admission.

Went to a Christmas school fair and they were selling - alongside cookies and cards - horror stickers. Had to bring this guy home. The real meaning of Christmas!
I buy less discs these days (my to-watch pile was becoming unreasonable!) but these two pre-orders arrived recently: an under-celebrated John Carpenter meta-movie & possibly the most brutal film I’ve ever seen. Classics both.
