Just watched Silent Runnjng at the @princecharlescinema.com - first time I’ve seen it on big screen, and first since becoming a gardener. Hits even harder.
Trip to the restored Crystal Palace Park and its dinosaurs. Joyful to see the decay reversed.
Tone was set for Spider-Man: Brand New Day tonight by three kids doing this in the foyer beforehand. Really enjoyed the film.
They are really into it - one of them made this “party spell book for all our spells” overnight….
Wondering about that West Ham away game on 1st Sep. I’ll be just up the road at school then.
Mixed weather for Duke of Edinburgh silver training expedition. We’ve been lucky and not been walking or putting tents up in the heaviest rain.
I’m all about the Rohan checks these days. Wear ‘em hiking, wear ‘em to work, wear ‘em anywhere…
Anne-Sophie Mutter at the Barbican tonight was wonderful. And this is how close our seats were. If she walked a bit slower, it would have been a really good photo.
London FA Cup final. Dulwich Hamlet took an early lead but were worn down by a well-drilled QPR side of full-time professionals. Moral victory to the Hamlet, I say.
Just watched Louis Malle’s Viva Maria - first saw it on TV a long time ago. Barbarella meets Duck You Sucker meets Warner Bros cartoons - manages mood swings and genre-bends like a dancer. Some nice cinematography and use of landscape. And Lumiere Romford showed it in the original French.
