This marmot was super curious, coming close and scampering away, passing behind rocks, and back again. It’s the first time I’ve been able to get this close, and I think it’s because it was mutual curiosity. Did you know marmots hibernate up to 8 months of the year? #photography

They say that bears like to sit and enjoy nature. I suspect all animals do. It’s only humans that make a big fuss about it.

This alpine marmot was super curious. He kept sneaking up on me trying to get my food. After he understood he wasn’t getting any he went and foraged.

I take this 5 watt panel with me sometimes. It’s got a 2200mAh battery in it. Anaemic these days but helps when out for a few days.

Dealing with 40 knot gusts. This is one of those sphincter clenching moments as my tent collapsed on itself and I had to add more guy lines. I should’ve brought my Scarp 1 instead. Less room, bomb proof though.

Video of the Ptarmigan I came across. I I’ve seen them a little further south, but It was exciting to see them, especially as their feathers were moulting to summer colours!

Scarpa sure makes a well rounded hiking boot 😂 I went looking for some spring skiing early this morning but have up after getting frustrated hiking for so long and gave up. I ended getting a couple of pretty awesome waterfall photos In really pleased with, and any time outside is not wasted!

Cold, but hanging out with the dogs in the backyard taking in the scents and sounds. I have a 600mm lense but it’s nowhere as sharp as my 400 - this was shot handheld with my 400 and cropped on my phone just now.

It stormed heavily overnight! I really like this XDome tent. I still have my Scarp 1, and it’s a better tent for severe weather, but I’ve literally outgrown it with my training and some of the extra gear I take with me now. I’ll probably look into the Arcdome in the near future for winter.

Date night with Shiba #1. The weather was looking “good” for the weekend and she seemed to be interested in camping so I brought her along. Not a lot of photography when she comes, but that’s ok - the trip is about her.

Getting a cold snap so maybe some ice climbing next weekend! 4 month Shiba(#2) was enamoured with the snow. Shiba(#1) was enamoured with her breakfast.

Using a new computer to print another batch of my Raven cards. Testing the colour print profiles - a little too much blue in the grey! I love watching Ravens in the local mountains, this one was at Cypress a few years ago. Highly intelligent, large, and always a little mystery about them.
