In SoCal for a few weeks visiting my folks. We went to the new Square Enix cafe in Little Tokyo. It's a cute little new spot.
I got this awesome gift from a business partner at work. It's a piece of a meteorite!
We watched the Mamma Mia! musical this past weekend. I haven't seen the movie adaptation nor am I a big ABBA fan, but it was really fun. It lives up to its reputation as a comedy work.
Yesterday we went to the Music of Square Enix concert. It was an incredible experience. Plenty of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Chrono Trigger, Octopath Traveler, and even classics like Xenogears, Mana series, Live A Live, and Romancing Saga. Yoko Shimamura was in attendance too as a special guest.
We visited Oxford this past weekend. I have to say... this city lives up to its reputation. It's rich with culture and history and has such an engrossing vibe & atmosphere. It has been a big highlight of my time here in the UK. We're definitely going to have to plan another trip out there.
Finally watched the Gundam "Road to 50" prologue movie. I always enjoy these little love letters to the franchise. This one had some great effects & animation and iconic shots too! I checked the credits and Yoshihito Hishinuma was involved as one of the animators (Wing/Turn A).
We finally finished FFVII: Rebirth. I have mixed thoughts, but overall I did enjoy it. I think most importantly it does feel like an actual full blown adventure, and that aspect of the original game is well-realized here. The character interactions & dynamics are still incredible.
I've seen Starlight Express twice now... I think it might be my new favorite musical. The songs are addicting, it has an uplifting self-empowering message, and the overall spectacle is incredible and exhilarating. I also think it's all cleverly crafted if you know a bit about trains. 🚂
My wife and I replayed FFX (our first JRPG together!), and it was really fun to revisit this game decades later. I've always considered it the last of the "OG FFs", for lack of better descriptor, and I still kinda hold that view. I like Tidus as a premise & protagonist, and he actually acts his age.
I'm flying to London again, but this time it's to temporarily move and be with my wife 😊 we'll be able to celebrate my bday together too. I'm excited to formally start this chapter of my life. Pictured below is Los Angeles. SoCal/OC/LA will always be in my heart, no matter where life takes me.
This was our wedding cake. It was baked with all-natural fresh ingredients, and each layer had a different flavor. The Silent Princess flowers were also edible. The Link & Zelda amiibos were provided by me. We worked with a luxury cake artist local to Dublin.
💍 🇺🇸♥️🇮🇪 I'm now married to the love of my life! We had an international wedding with events in London, Dublin, and Los Angeles. It has been a long journey, and I want to thank everyone who has supported us along the way to help make this dream a reality.

Aerith's house & garden kind of reminds me of a place I visited in London called The Hill Garden and Pergola
