I play and teach guitar (classical, electric, acoustic). Teach up to & beyond ABRSM Grade 8, also TR&P, Rockschool. I read, write and take photographs. Venezuelan/Italian in London.
Garden Gutiar concert at Rustique went very well. We had a full house (that is not saying much since capacity must be around 25 to 30) and they seemed to enjoy it. Should do more of these....
I forgot to mention here that I did play that concert at Café Palestina and it went very well, contrary to my usual fears about these things (i'll make a mess, forget the music, nobody will turn up, etc). Full house. Half th proceeds go to their charity. I was rel. happy with my playing. All good.
Playing at the @cafepalestina on Friday 22nd May 2026. Would be good to see some of you there. Details in bio. As always, it would be helpful if you bought tickets early so we have an idea re numbers, etc. #guitar #classicalguitar #flaviomatani #kentishtown #cafepalestina #yulongguoguitars #london
Had very yummy dinner at @cafepalestina tonight. May play a concert again in their events room in the late spring, fingers crossed. More on this anon. Couldn't resist taking a few pictures of the ceramic and assorted stuff. #cafepalestina #kentishtown #neighbourhood
Post a gif of who you wanted to be as a kid An immigrant from foreign, distant lands -probably not a good thing, in these dark times. (didn't quite end up like this one, but hey)
I wasn't even aware that this cartoon by @tomgauld.bsky.social had generated a long stream of memes, like the one here. Topical and ever more relevant today. Wonder what he thinks about the phenomenon.

Happy World Goth Day to you. Here, a little memory of a group of lovely people at the Whitby Goth Weekend festival in... Whitby, NE England, in 2005.
Age yourself with a popular shop as a kid Growing up in Caracas, Vz, with the distant glow of capitalism without down-payments ('sin inicial'). This, partof a US chain, was a popular shop in Vz at the time. For those who could afford it (many couldn't).
Waiting for next pupil - a 60 y o lady preparing a Guitar Grade 6 and enjoying the journey. It is never too late! #guitarlessons #guitar #guitartuition #flaviomataniguitar
Me playing 'Yacambú', Venezuelan vals by Antonio Lauro, a quick take at home some time ago. A couple of slightly untidy notes, a low-rez 1 min edit. #guitar #classicalguitar #guitarlessons #vemezuelanguitarmusic #london #antoniolauro #rustique #tufnellpark #kentishtown #camden #northlondon
Wait. I was playing a concert out of doors, in January? Feels unreal this particular January.
From TikTok today. Which, may I remind you, will still work in this country after tomorrow.
Street art in Wynwood (didn’t get to go in the actual Walls as it was closed in Xmas day but it was worth the while to wonder in the area) #streetart #wynwood #miami
Looks like Santa has already had enough this year (as seen at George's Barber Rooms here in Kentish Town) #santa #christmas #georgesbarberroom #kentishtown #neighbourhood
The author of 'Silo' got it right: (to be clear, I do not wish death on anybody, but press and the media really are reading so very wrongly the mood of the many people who have turned the killer into a folk hero. There are very good reasons for this.
A quieter day than normal due to a couple of lesson cancellations so went to Elephant & Castle for some Venezuelan foodstuffs at the Colombian shops then a stroll around Borough Market (cheese... cheese...) and the South Bank. Here's a little video of part of 'Open Wound' by Mire Lee, Tate Modern.
A visit yesterday to @dotsmusiccamden . Really liking how they arranged this room. Trying out their guitars, as well, which was fun. Lovely friendly local music shop, may it long endure. #dotsmusiccamden #dotsmusic #musicshop #localmusicshop #camdentown #kentishtown #neighbourhood
