Lately I've been working on new Just Shop Mode content, that involves building a cross-save talent tree to bring a meta progression element into the roguelike mode. I've been trying a rougher documentation style as I go, a bit like a mind map. It's quick and gives a broad view, I like it.

I flipped the presentation on the Steam page recently, putting the story section at the top instead of the gameplay features. Seems to have driven a boost in sales. This goes against common advice I've seen, thought it was an interesting result.

oh wow, yeah look at their crazy price history. no idea what's up there. there is a 30 day cooldown period after sales (excluding the winter, summer, fall, and spring sales). certain games certainly seem to be able to get around it though (rdr2 is another). suss and unfair.

is this why we make games? lol a review from 2023 with a bunch of upvotes got edited this month, which pushed it back into algorithmic relevance and sadly coincided with a drop in sales. it's mostly anti-woke ideology unrelated to the game, but when I flagged it as such Steam did not remove it.

Been deep in the UI mines upgrading the Witch Words interface. 💬 I realised that a long list was going to be too clunky for constructing Phrases. So now we have this radial business, any Word is always 1 to 3 clicks away. Much snappier, for the working Witch. 🧹 #gamedev #indiegame #indiedev
