💀 Bad taste incarnate. Protein based construct. 🎬 Come for the horror and trash, stay for absurd statements, occult nonsense 🔮, and stuff about whatever it is Gizmo 🐈⬛ is doing. ⚠️ Morally ambiguous, aesthetically suspicious.
I Want Your Sex was surprisingly delightful. What I’ve always appreciated about Araki, even when I actively dislike the movie in front of me, is that there is never any doubt whatsoever that a Gregg Araki film has occurred. His films don't happen while attempting something sensible.
Net.goth in the '90s? you knew Razor Blade Smile. Talked about on alt.gothic like it was a transmission from our own little republic. It wasn't good. Neither were half the Gregg Araki films we adored. That's never really been the point. Some movies aren't classics. They're fossils of a subculture.
Look, do I want to be the guy who keeps posting about terrible public domain horror movies? No. Am I capable of stopping? Also no. Anyway, I just watched Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare (2025). This is less a hobby than a medically fascinating condition. Watch this one and you get what you get...
Chicago is trying to become an inland sea, and I've exhausted the useful forms of worrying. Time to outsource my remaining brain cells to Blood and Honey 2. Sometimes the only antidote to reality is cinema that has openly declared war on quality.
I swear I'll get back to watching movies and making matter of fact mythologicaly absurd statements about them. But for now - the Crypt Keeper has me. I forgot how wonder and formative some of these old episodes were!
Currently reading the forgotten books of cursed wisdom in my collection. But after seeing all of the Franco Friday posts. I really need to be watching a Jes Franco movie I think.
I know, public domain character + slasher = content, right? But really The monster in these isn't really the character. The monster is the gap. The years where something terrible happened and everyone collectively stopped looking at it. #Watched Betty's Revenge (2026)
Quick trip east this weekend. Then all roads lead to Strongman next Saturday. I’m feeling ready. By the time it’s over, I expect to be held together by stubbornness alone and in urgent need of the coldest celebratory booze and the finest ribs in the kingdom.
Am I actually this thing, or have I become a character in someone else's story about me? Yes, Bruce Labruce is an acquired taste. Yes, if you describe the films literally, they sound much more ridiculous than they actually feel while watching them. #NowWatching Otto; or, Up with Dead People (2008)
New frontiers in supervillainy. The first phase of my plan was simple: attend a neighborhood street fair and behave normally. By all accounts, the operation was a complete failure. I have a strong suspicion that @arundelpouf.bsky.social arranged the clouds deliberately before taking this.
I absolutely love when a movie understands HOW to drag a bit well past the point of comfort and really make you feel the insanity. it wasn’t “dream logic” it was the sheer commitment to escalation through repetition #Watched Monkey's Magic Merry Go Round (2024) #surreal #horror #horrorsky
Wishing you all a cozy Caturday of observing the neighborhood with the calm intensity of something ancient deciding who gets spared when the lights finally go out.
Last night we opened the studio for the building’s open house and invited friends and strangers alike to wander through our little pocket of controlled obsession. @arundelpouf.bsky.social and I always love these type of building hauntings.
I didn't hate this - but It’s like eating room-temperature vanilla pudding while someone occasionally waves a knife nearby. It has such a fascinatingly neutral energy. All the elements were there but not assembled in ways I'm going to remember. #watched Founders Day (2023) #horror #horrorsky
Friction at @leatherarchives.bsky.social Was reassuring to @arundelpouf.bsky.social and I that somewhere beneath civilization’s thin veneer, enough people still want to dress dramatically and behave iconoclastically.
Highly recommend Galaxy of Terror (1981) if you haven't seen it - just for the worm critters alone! Some of the finest Roger Cormining going on here...
Time bends. Identity molts. The persistence of appetite manifest in fur and antennae.
Tom Arnold and Eric Roberts showing up in something modern is like a cinematic Geiger counter clicking faster the closer you get to low-budget radiation. Not always bad, but always… telling. Sometimes you hope it’s consistently painful in an interesting way. #Watched Desert Fiends (2024)
Though my darkness is an ancient one, I only this weekend bought my first thing ever from a Hot Topic. DOOM all. DOOM.
So much of 80's comedy was simply built on characters whose main trait was being horny and underqualified. So many jokes from that era don’t land in the modern sense because landing wasn’t always the point. Cavegirl (1985) - Daniel Roebuck's first real role is a pretty good forgotten example
Mall goths are here to haunt the cursed architecture of a stubborn place that forgot to die. We eschew the food court in favor of autonomous mid-mall snacking, feral and unsupervised. We cross hostile and friendly territories like prophecy in leather. @arundelpouf.bsky.social #mallrats #mallgoths
Tinto Brass aiming for decadent spectacle. But it’s Tinto Brass, so we leave knowing more about everyone’s anatomy than any medical professional ever needed to. #Watched Caligula: The Ultimate Cut (1979)
An old favorite wraps itself around me. not warmth, but recognition. A life lesson is learned here. When a problem is sufficiently big. You need to call El Santo. #NowWatching Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter (2001) #horror #horrorsky #theygetsomuchdoneinaday
If anything asks, tell them I went upstairs to negotiate with the machinery. Happy Friday bsky. This week can suck it.
Hong Kong horror has a wonderful habit of starting with a curse and ending with what feels like a cosmic bar fight between demons and exorcists. #NowWatching Devil Fetus (1983) #horror #hongkong #catiii
The Last Video Store was far more meta than even I expected. Beneath the VHS splatter is a love letter to the weird era when movies had imagination and the bad ones mattered even more. 🖤📼 #Watched The Last Video Store (2023) #horror #horrorsky #metahorror
@arundelpouf.bsky.social completed another revolution this weekend. Being part of it was like standing inside a spell. We somehow managed to assemble a table that looks exactly like the supporting cast in a 90s indie supernatural film. But the real magick happens next Saturday.
