Looks like the RRFS is populating into parallel. When I get a chance, I'll start drafting up a build for RRFS clients in WxData - though I won't release them until the RRFS gets moved into PROD.
I made my own tier list. I made it with both the thinking of my personal biases meaning specifically towards my career (10 years graduated) but then also tried to think in a broad sense for everyone (hence Cloud Physics is not in F). I think this will make for an interesting discussion.
When I was in college I did think like Mike in that I thought us Meteorologists would always have CS people to build things for us. I couldn't have been more wrong and I will passionately defend the importance of CS to the folks in our field who don't think it's important.
This is a tier list of meteorology courses someone made on LinkedIn. The list is based on how useful each course is in the real world. I agree with the majority of this list. Biggest changes I'd make is Computer Programming & Scientific Writing goes to S tier & Atmospheric Chemistry E tier.
I did an inventory of all the features in WxData 2.2 and I really think WxData is starting to rival Herbie with respect to how much weather data one can access by using the packages. One major difference between WxData and Herbie is WxData retrieves observational data and fuels data.

Played around with Julia today. I will say Julia is easy to learn if you are a Python developer. Picking up Julia is easier than C# in my opinion. Julia is a newer language that is dynamically typed and compiled rather than interpreted so it's like Python on speed and is geared towards data science.
