12+ hours in the airport system 4 flights (all delayed or rescheduled, all scheduled to take off within 20 min of previous flight landing) Finally .done (except my checked bag is still in Nashville 🙃)
Well I'm on a plane to somewhere out of Nashville and the WiFi isn't being filtered so that's something!
greetings from NYC airspace where the windchill in an open door helicoper has reached about -10000 F
Had to take a short break to replace the battery in my switch but finally got around to finishing Arceus!
Also there was an anti ice rally right outside the venue so on a related note you should totally check out twitch.tv/reallyreally... which is fundraising for the Women's Foundation of Minnesota
Nothing makes you feel old like going to a wedding and barely knowing any of the songs the DJ is playing 👴🏻 Theres also no feeling quite like being in the middle of setting up your video gear and realizing there's a hold in your pants 🫣
2) This was the most comments I proly ever got on my outfit?! I was sorta expecting it for the "Media offline" shirt given the GDQ demographic, but was totally not expecting it for the techware pants! Someone on the fashion panel liked them so you already know i'm riding that high for the next 50yrs
<start sincerepost> 1)This was the 1st event where people I didn't know recognized me and stopped to say hi! Crazy that people know about me now🤯 I know im not the most friendly/talkative but if you were one of the people that said hi, I appreciate you! Special SO to Izzy who gave me a 3d printed 🐟!
I think that just about wraps up the thread for AGDQ26! Leaving you with 4 of my favorites this time around. Until next time 🫡
Also shoutout to all the photographer volunteers! We have a lot of returning volunteers and it's awesome to see them all growing and expanding their skills every event!
Just want to draw special attention to this photo since it sorta shows how much work goes into making every run work and how things are constantly being worked on and fixed, even mid run. Shoutout to all the BTS people 🙏🏻
Always gotta stop by the arcade! I don't think I took any "regular" photos of DDR/SMX this time, they were all shutter dragged to make the lights look like they were coming out of the panels. Tried doing this on some other games/cabs with.... no so great results lol
A welcome addition to the stream room this event was the RGB lighting around the walls! The definitely helped give runner and couch portrait shots a pop of background color that didn't exist previously.
This lead to a bunch of slightly blurry photos that i should have been able to capture with no issue. I hate that I'm been saying this for the past couple recap threads but cranking the shutter speed when needed isn't much of an issues with advanced in denoising, i guess old habits really die hard.
To no one's surprise, lighting was TERRIBLE in the hotel which made white balancing a nightmare, especially in the casual gaming + panel areas. sometimes you're dealing with stage lights (~6000K), hotel lights (~2600K), and daylight (~5400K) all in the same shot, masks are your friend >.>
