The establishment is not some woke ‘lanyard class’. The real establishment is rarely criticised because it can shut criticism down. It is immensely rich and powerful and you only realise it’s there when you challenge it. And Farage is right in the middle of it.
Rutland is being incorporated into what's left of Leicestershire again. I can't see that going down well either. Perhaps we should ask one of Rutland's foremost Marxist economists for comment. @chrisdillow.bsky.social www.rutland.gov.uk/sites/defaul...
I’m not watching the nobody-gives-a-toss game on Saturday. UEFA abolished the 3rd place playoff after 1980 because they realised that nobody gave a toss.
Did we hear Labour MPs whimpering like this after Jo Cox was killed? Or Conservatives after the murder of David Amess?
I’m nicking this. (I will, of course, credit @samlearner.bsky.social when I do.)
Well I must be very old fashioned, then, because I still think we’re stuffed if we don’t do Net Zero and that slavery of any kind is abhorrent.
If I get up there in time I’ll try to get some shots of the water tower coming down. That’s been we will know it’s really over!
Derelict for nearly 20 years, the buildings at @warrenfarmnr.bsky.social in Ealing became almost iconic. Loved by graffiti artists and film crews, they also provided habitats for some rare plant and animal species. But they were also dangerous, full of asbestos and structurally unsafe.
I remember thinking this years ago. The Flamin’ Groovies were always somehow out-of-time. As far as I know, I was the only one in our year who bought their album. I still listen to it from time to time.

Amidst all the criticism it’s worth remembering this. Badenoch and Farage wanted us to join Trump’s war. Starmer kept us out.
Correction: Earliest sunrise was 17 June. Thanks to @diamondgeezerblog.bsky.social for this excellent link: www.suncalc.org You can get the sunrise and sunset times on any day for any point in the world. You can make a sun calendar for your house! www.suncalc.org
Thought you’d be pleased. You lot have been banging on about Singapore-on-Thames for years. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
What kind of mind thinks of something like this? Buy a strip of land, split it into plots aligning with neighbouring gardens, then start boundary disputes with the owners.
John Healey’s resignation letter. We are at war. Neither this government nor the last one has been able to get that message across to the public. With the desertion of our major ally, that means a big jump in defence spending.
