Today's 23c ride for coffee was by Cinelli Supercorsa (and Orbea Orca Dama). And on returning home got a message to say that my residency card is available.😀
Today's 23c ride for coffee was further lightened by being told, when we went to pay for our coffees, that someone had already paid for them.😀 That someone being the owner of another cafe we stop at when cycling. Gentil!
I loved them at the time, but as a predominately NHS dentist, they were just too dear when new, as I would never lease a car. Then went back to uni. When I was looking for a car to have as a retirement fun thing, realised I could get an R129. And there we go!
'So, you get to eat all the grass you want? Any baths?' 'I'll think about it and get back to you, but being a dog suits me just now'
My niece is staying with us and got a great shot of a hummingbird hawk moth.
For today's cycle I wore this jersey, which I bought on Champs Elysees in 1992 at the final stage of the Tour, primarily to see Roche and Millar. It still fits, 34 years later, but I fill it out a tiny bit more!
We're making this a Sunday tradition....at least in good weather.
Nipped round to see some friends today. They're looking after some baby Hirondelles which fell from the nest
Public health message from Théodore the #vizsla Even when walking on shady forest trails, when it's warm, take the time to hydrate! 🐕
My favourite summer visitor is here! Hummingbird hawk moth really likes the lavender.
Today's trip to the market was supposed to be in the SL, but it's still pissing fuel, so took the Passat. Got to follow a Sacco Merc on the way back though! A nice 190 with black Paris plates. Picture taken by my wife.
#Vizsla tip for heatwaves no. 312 Lie on a tiled floor where possible, but if you want to be on a settee, expose as much skin as poss!
We've never slept in our garden guest studio, but as it was 40c here yesterday and the studio has a reversible heat pump, we cooled it down and spent the night. Nice view from bed in the morning! And it was very comfy. I can see why our friends love it.😀
Busy morning for les ecossais in the heat. Bit of gardening then drove our neighbour's son, with her, to the station to start his journey back south. Then on to a local resto for lunch. And yes that is 17€ for 3 courses and cheese! Afternoon reading under the trees I think.
Is it wrong that my favourite part of an R129 is the front wheelsrch??😀
Who needs indexing? 50 odd years of muscle memory works just fine😃
Strange, because, Bianchi, Colnago, DeRosa, Pinarello, Willier, Cinelli and many more, all do Campag equipped bikes. Having said that, my wife's Orbea Orca Dama has 105 (with an FSA Crankset) and she really likes it, but not as much as the ergo Veloce on her Roberts. I'll always prefer Campag 😁
