In one of his first acts as Prime Minister, Andy Burnham decided to continue allowing UK bases to be used in support of US military operations against Iran. In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has stated that RAF Fairford may be considered a legitimate military target.

We are deeply concerned by growing discussion around the possible return of military conscription or compulsory national service in the UK. Conscription would remove choice from young people at a critical stage of their lives and place them into military service against their will.
