Just finished this and highly recommend it if you are in the mood for a romance that has enough weight to keep it grounded without ever feeling truly angsty. Anita Kelly is so good at balancing realistic fears and worries with gentle optimism and heart; this might be my favorite of theirs yet
My hockey watching companion, who did not mind all the yelling that happened just a bit ago
And finally, last but not least and better late than never, books I finished in December, post 1 of 3:
Okay I started this project last year and it bothers me to leave it unfinished so, here are the books I read in November, post 1 of 3:
And now here before I forget are the books I read this month, which I am actually posting about before the month ends, hooray:
Last one, including the table of contents since this was a short story anthology. I highlighted the ones I particularly enjoyed, but they all were quite good!
Somehow not only September has come and gone but now October has too. What is time?? Anyway here’s what I read in Sept, post 1/2–
Reading is one of the ways I stay sane, and remember that there’s a lot in this life that makes me happy too. I’m always reading something. Here’s what I read in July—
Okay, well, uh. I spent my afternoon looking at cool plants and flowers at the conservatory so here’s a few pictures of that instead
FREE: bodyguard romance that is real big on consent & pining and really against gentrification: I liked it! BURY: felt like a successor to Siren Queen in some ways, extremely fun with lots to think about, ie, Chuck Tingle’s classic way SHOT: adorbs, and obvious Brown knows her hockey
HARVEST: Profoundly moving, and easily one of my top books of the year already SIREN: Whew another banger! Will be thinking about this one for a while too DROP: a worthy, twisty, unsettling sequel to The Tainted Cup, with a mystery that kept me guessing GENTLEMAN: thoroughly charming
Sharing my black cat to add to the small black cat luck in this thread. May we all be able to bask happily in a sunbeam surrounded by our favorite things
