Another hot weekend, another free knit in public event. Our Summer House is bedecked with La Tricolore as we celebrate Bastille Day & Les Tricoteuse, the radical knitters of the French Revolution. All day tomorrow, so bring your knitting and join us. Please note our guillotine will not be in use.

Our Knitted Green Man made for our May Day celebrations is now on public display in our Chapel Gallery. He will eventually live in the actual museum, but we especially wanted all those who made and sent leaves to us to see the final glorious result.

HAPPY MAY DAY from our Knitted Green Man. This is just a work in progress. Visitors to our two big May Day events over the weekend in Lambley village & at the Museum will get the chance to add more leaves made locally and sent to us from all over the UK. It's going to look amazing.

As a site that tells the story of workers’ lives, May Day has to be part of our events programme. Over the Bank Holiday we're hosting 2 days of May Day revelry & events. These will be at the museum and in Lambley village, reviving the lost Notts May Day tradition of Cowslip Sunday. See you there?
