Episcopal priest with opinions. Anglo-Catholic. Yalie. Actual orthodoxy is diverse, inclusive, and compassionate; otherwise it’s just bigotry in vestments. Opera fan. 🏳️🌈 🐈🐈⬛
Everybody on here complaining the artist didn’t make the art they wanted him to make 💁♂️
“Boris and I are engaged.” When you’re six years old in 1981, this passes as glorious affirmation. Superman II is 45 today. 🏳️🌈
Just home from a terrific week as summer camp chaplain at our diocesan farm & retreat center. The theme was “hope” — and these kids and young adults, with their smiles, laughter, kindness, vulnerability, and brains, gave me hope in spades. Also it was my birthday on Tuesday!
A reading for Evening Prayer tonight, highlighted in some forgotten year past, felt…topical. Giving thanks today for nine years of ordained life, on the feast of St. Ephrem. ⚓️🕯️
All of these are assuming I'm not a priest who is getting up at 5 a.m. on Sunday LOL
It is time for mass non-violent non-cooperation with the forces of oppression and exploitation. I refuse to participate in the cruelty, dishonesty, greed, and injustice that holds our nation in thrall.
One of my indoor cats, watching the reigning feral queen imperiously regard the tentative approach of a juvenile noob toward the kibble.
He looks so much like my boy Curry, WHO DOES THE EXACT SAME THING
Excellent spam for me. I don’t even have words for what a “weekend of golf” sounds like to me. 🤮
My silent retreat at the diocesan camp was cut short by the tornado watch. When staff texted directions on how to get into the root cellar in case the sirens went off, I thought, “Home sounds good.” 😒
We’re back to mild weather (for now). The backyard is busy with birds and other fascinating creatures (by day, mostly squirrels and the occasional woodchuck, sometimes deer; at night, skunks, raccoons, and rabbits are common). Alas, the shared window détente was bound to fail.
Hi. I’m not super active on this site, but I’m taking a break from social media for Lent. See you after Easter.
