This bizarre attack ad against Jamie Pedersen, paid for by Brian Heywood and his buddies, is dropping in our mailbox today. These guys have way too much money and time on their hands and would rather meddle with elections instead of paying their fair share to fund education and healthcare.
Late late stage capitalism is funneling your money directly from your bank account to your gambling account
I was proud to represent the @43rddemocrats.org at the kick-off press conference for the @no645.bsky.social campaign. Society is much better when we're all in it together and when everyone contributes their fair share to open education and healthcare to everyone! www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
This is such a weird take. I haven't heard a single person frame this as punishing Balogun or sticking it to Trump. Yes it was clearly unintentional. It's also the kind of tackle that can end a career. Borderline red cards happen every day in leagues around the world and they don't get suspended.
I know a lot of folks have mixed feelings about patriotism right now, but take it from one of the millions of immigrants who chose to become US citizens during (and despite) either Trump administration: there is a whole lot of good in this country to fight for. Happy July 4th everyone! 🇺🇸
I am terminally online so this wasn't a surprise to me but I had to explain to a lot of people in my section that dudes rushing to the nosebleeds and taking their shirts off was a thing.
I thought about you this morning @gordonofseattle.bsky.social. Bike corrals are great... when they are not so far from the intersection that a Land Rover parks between them and the crosswalk 🤦
This is horrific 😔 I walk and drive by this intersection all the time. One small thing I hate about this specific crosswalk is that the walk sign is completely obscured by a leaning utility pole, so you have to wait for cars to start turning into you to know that the walk sign is on.
You heard the story: an AI bot wrote and published a hit piece targeting the maintainer of a popular open-source library. But what's been missing from the narrative is that *somebody* started that bot and sent it to the library repository, and that person is still escaping all accountability.
Sean McVay throwing tantrums after a loss reminds me of when you win a case in Ace Attorney 😂
I received my share of scammy texts over the years, even some of them pretending to be my boss, but that's the first one that is pretending to be my wife 😳 everyone stay safe out there!
OMG we did it @poulchapman.bsky.social!!! Proof that enough complaining to SDOT works!
Here's what I sent to our elected officials to voice my disappointment in seeing the legislature prioritize wealthy people and corporations over the children of our state, especially those from low-income working families.
My local QFC introduced that trend a few years ago. And lost most of my business at the same time.
Compare with the US average, where the difference in cohort size is within striking distance. There's so much more we could do in Seattle to make it a welcoming (and affordable) place for working families.
This got me curious about the demographics of Seattle, and while it is obvious the city is not very kid-friendly, I didn't expect the pyramid to be so lopsided. There are 3x more people 25-35 than teenagers! 😳 Source: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demogra...
It's easy to see the half-empty glass and focus on what could have been instead of the oversized Alaskan Way, but the Seattle Waterfront used to be shameful and now we don't have the viaduct, we have direct access from Pike Place, large pedestrian areas... a huge improvement across the board.
Threads feeling the heat! 🔥 I've always found it disingenuous for platforms to equate ranked timeline with showing content from people you don't follow. At Twitter, the argument would always go "regardless of what people say, they engage much more with the ranked timeline than reverse chron". (1/4)
