This 💩 is why I love our statewide vote-by-mail system here in WA! You get your ballot in the mail, have plenty of time to research & fill it out, and mail it in for free or drop it in a local drop box; all tracked online. No driving to polls, long waits, or opportunity to be intimidated 💥
Seeing mountain goats up close for the first time, but not too close, on Friday's hike
#WildflowerHour #PNW Foxglove blooms covered the three west summits of Tiger Mtn yesterday 😍
I’m not a photographer, but I was so excited to see a mother Barred Owl with three owlets over the weekend. Here’s a frame from a video clip that shows Mom with one baby—so cute and fuzzy! #BirdOfTheDay theme as #YourChoice.
Stopped for a rest after hiking 2.5 miles up 1,800 ft elevation and the forest sent a message. #resist 💙👊💙
Not a photographer, but joining in on the fun with this video of a chatty heron in #PNW for #BirdOfTheDay #FeathersInFoliage with alt theme is #CormorantOrHeron

A beautiful sign of spring is when woods are filled with trillium (from yesterday's hike) #WoodlandPlants #WildFlowerHour #PNW
I talked with a lady with a sign that was obviously made at the event with the supplies provided, who was shocked that it wasn’t scary and violent. Obviously her first protest, she also said that her husband thought she was doing yard work. She overcame several fears to be there and felt community.
I stood between a family that attended for the first time commenting on sign designs on one side and next to an elderly man in his early 90s who talked about learning the 7 signs of fascism in the early 1950s citing each point and providing examples of how this regime hit each one.
🧵1/4 “Tomorrow there will be more of us.” @altnps.bsky.social often states and I am sharing my three observations of this from yesterday’s No Kings event in our small Des Moines, WA city
