Go for it! I bought a 1.5 nib for one of my idle Lamys and some shimmering gold ink, just for signing Farscape scripts and whatnot. Fountain pens forever!

Notepaper, with a swab of Robert Oster "Heart of Gold" fountain pen ink and a writing sample (done with a Lamy Al-Star with 1.5 nib); a bottle of that ink; a small piece of speckle-gold-painted foam from one of the "ribs" of Moya, the living ship on the TV series Farscape.
