Seefeel - Hol.Hz the year has been so packed with great new releases I didn't give enough time to the new album from one of my alltime faves. revisiting now with the volume cranked and I'm absolutely ~floating~
Mammo - Lateral Everyone's rightly been going nuts over the K Wata album - it's incredible - but I think this 100 minute monster is still my favorite release on Short Span, and one of the best albums of the year so far
Nice little book haul came in the mail today. Pretty stoked to grab two more PKD joints, another Manchette, and finally check out The World Inside, which has been on my reading list for years
sunrise coming through the window blinds, Autechre Guitar on the speakers.. it's been a good morning.
Stereolab really went off on this comeback album - not many bands where I could put on any album and be equally happy. Like yeah I've got favorites, but they have never given us a bad time.
Suzanne Kraft - Talk From Home Perfect, gentle Monday morning soundtrack 🌬️
Pleased to announce that Letty has finally reclaimed her dog bed from the cats
Oh man, rest in peace Sam Neill. He was a great presence in movies my entire life, a real treasure.
discovered that Mr. YT aka Yuji Takenouchi had a fullblown future jazz / deep house project called missingsoul and that this album, Edge of the Soul, had an insanely lush, Moodymann-esque take on "Pacific Jazz" from his monumental 90s album Brand New Day. perfect news, really.
I've probably seen the intro to Twin Peaks more than a hundred times while revisiting the show over the years and I still never even think about skipping it. That's psycho behavior.
new Kelela album is gorgeous. I'm about to go on a long drive to pick up some dinner and this is gonna sound amazing with the windows down and the sun shining
Speaker Music - Synoptic Audio abstract supernovas of distorted, free-jazzy techno abrasion on this textural stunner from DeForrest Brown Jr. feels like my brain is getting atomized and rebuilt with every track into progressively more intense percussive waves.. crank it up loud.
My wife hates mustaches but she's traveling until next week so I've got this bad boy on my face until Monday, baby
Haruomi Hosono - N.D.E Erasing a stressful day with this deeply heady, dubbed out 1996 masterpiece featuring Bill Laswell, Francois K, and Yasuaki Shimizu. My digital library may be inaccessible for now but my turntable's got my back.
I'm in an audio crisis! Woke up today to find my face/amp unable to produce sound from the PC. It still plays analog input from my turntable but the DAC is likely fried. Now I guess I need to buy a new model that I can use as the switcher between vinyl/digital input 🥴
my wife and I camping up north two years ago.. photo app coughs up some good memories sometimes.
I finally fell in love with Washing Machine today. somehow the album never fully clicked with me, despite giving it a fresh spin every couple years. I loved the albums before and I loved what came after... but only now has it completely hit me. this is up there with their best.
super fun movie, that climactic fight scene had me hooting and hollering
a Simpsons meme just made me realize how crazy it is that I haven't yet seen Stop Making Sense
Four massive techno bangers 🍃 These albums are going to get me through the process of finally putting together a new set of record shelves this afternoon. My ever growing "new" piles will finally have a home!
Function - Aeternum (Existenz) just stumbled onto this sumptuous little companion album to 2019's monumental Existenz. primo atmospheric scifi-tinged, electro-adjacent techno from a total master. dedicated to the late, great John Mendez aka Silent Servant
XEXA - Kissom brb off to scramble my brain again with this gorgeous dispatch from Príncipe principediscos.bandcamp.com/album/kissom
sometimes I wake up with a deep desire to hear Toshifumi Hinata's magical music.
