Oh it's a great word to use in context! My gripe is more with how Hone counters have already been used and in a VERY different context with Uvilda. If this card didn't exist, neither does this thread. There are interesting design spaces to explore there, and the new counter use could stop that.

Now there is precedent of changing a counter name with Shield Counters and Palliation accord. IMO this was a great decision. Change 1 obscure card from 15 years ago to a new counter to get a very thematic name... The problem is, "Hone" isn't exactly evocative like "Shield" is.

You are correct! WAR Samut has a static that passively gives your stuff haste, and technically Sarkhan Vol did it as well, but that card probably shouldn't be in a Superfriends deck. All other instances of it on walkers either make a creature with haste or steal something and give it haste.

Today was a perfect 3-0 with Mono White Naya Heroes in 2HG. Double splashed for The Incredible Hulk, got to cast him once! Highlight was casting Sentry and having my teammate remove The Void the same turn. Turns out a 5/5 Flying, Vigilance, Indestructible is enough to solo a team, when supported.

Last night's build was a Rakdos splashing a bit of blue Robots and Villains deck I called "Bad Robot." I wanted to reverse this and go Blue Red splashing black for villain payoffs, but all my blue cards were Heroes. Ended up 1-2, but know I could have done better. The artifact deck is very strong.

Vibes were amazing. I specifically mentioned in my rules spiel how excited I have been for this set, and how much I love Marvel, which definitely improved things imo. People were showing me their cool team ups and shit. Also taskmaster sucks. Don't sleeve him up. Never got him to clone anything.

For our first entry in the eternal thread: Lorehold Soup? Really strong little Lorehold shell with loads of recursion, ramp and a P1P1 Ark of Hunger. Splashed black for Arcane Omens and managed to Twist for 4 with Potioner Trove's help. Ended up going 2-1 losing in the finals to a good Sultai pile.

Thursday Night? Trophy Night! Got lucky on a few opponents getting mana screwed. The highlight was "accidentally" attacking with my Sanar into a Tackle Artist. Of course they blocked, I cast Quandrix charm's 5/5 mode. Would have been lethal if they let all my attacks through. Won the next turn.
