b) is obviously "the truth is not beholden to your self-image" but I'm really struck by a) here, the idea that "if I can't aspire to perpetuate the empire then I can't aspire to anything at all" like you couldn't at LEAST aspire to purge the evil elements from the system?
I'm a little shocked my level isn't higher! I've done a LOT of long drives, but I haven't stayed more than a night nearly anywhere. Maybe if I went to more low-end furcons in the midwest...
