TENNESSEE WILLIAMS (1911 - 1983). One of America’s preeminent dramatists, Williams wrote A Streetcar Named Desire and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. His plays frequently explored desire, repression, and outsider status, themes drawn from his own experience as a gay man in the mid-century South. 🏳️🌈
André Gide (1869 - 1951). Nobel Prize–winning novelist and essayist, Gide was one of the first major European writers to openly address homosexuality in his work. His journals and novels remain foundational texts of both modernist literature and gay history. 🏳️🌈🇫🇷
