Thank you for the reminder- it's ironic, because she passed on the same day her co-star from Bus Stop married Bettie Johnson- a union that remained steady and true until his death in 2024. He truly found his "angel"
That's true! I didn't think I was counting them, though... maybe I should try this:
From the Rose Tattoo on Broadway, to the reboot of Twin Peaks on Showtime, Don Murray's career spanned nearly 8 decades. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Daddy!
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Champ! (that was his grandkids' name for him because they didn't want to call him Grandpa). you are still the light of my life, and I am honored, and so lucky, to be your son. You never stopped looking at me like this for 67 years, and I miss you so much 🥰😇
Somewhere among this gathering of holes in the water that you throw money into is a Flying Mezerkis! Fair winds and following seas, @bananapantz.bsky.social... #ALIR
With Dad, another July Birthday Boy, in Shake Hands With The Devil...
One of the first $100M budgets, and very disorganized. My first day on set was in May, 1996 and my last day was the following October. I probably worked 5 days total. The helicopter sucked up so much of that fake ash the pilot had to rebuild the entire engine
I just got off the phone with Mitch McConnell. Most of our 20 minute talk was inaudible because he was deep into his Boomhauer mumbling, but he seemed upbeat, and I clearly heard him say "Praise be to Allah!" before he hung up, so I know he's feeling well enough to follow current DJT media posts.
They were close friends, though the notion that they were romantically involved is misleading. Granted, Glenn was totally besotted by her and she adored him, but she knew anything more than that would not end well... he was wonderful to my sister and I, as well.
I felt that kind of heat in Leicestershire, 1988, when I went to the Moto GP in Donington. It was brutal- so uncharacteristic of English weather. I had a Press credential so I was able to sit in the Pub at Turn 1, but that was August- I can't imagine what's in store for you- please take care.
There's no better social commentary than a New Yorker cover. It's like the sign in a Shopping Mall that says "You Are Here" Happy Birthday, DonOld!
Awfully kind of Mr. Lauren to provide instructions as to which sock goes on which foot
Oh, how I wish I'd met her. I did work with him, though- after 4 hours in a makeup chair!
I can confirm that, without hesitation. Here we are in our first major stage roles in A Patriot For Me, with Alan Bates and Harry Andrews (1984)
Here's a lovely feature article about Tony from Hello Magazine in 1990- ain't my Goddaughter a cutie?
it was fun to work on, that's for sure (I just wish they gave me glasses that fit):
Frye's was my answer to the demise of Radio Shack- especially the one near Burbank Airport-
ya gotta celebrate life's victories, no matter how small. Yesterday I pulled a month's worth of laundry out of the dryer and every sock found its match. Let the Wild Rumpus start!
On Pluto TV this weekend, Alan Pakula's best Thriller. NY Times: "This isn't exactly a movie about now, but if our era of Epstein investigations and institutional erosions has taught us anything it's that there are indeed many backrooms. And in them craven power and unspeakable evil are the same."
the guy in front of the flashlight beams is me. You can tell by the hat and the watch- same as the one I wore arresting Blair Underwood.
My first flight back to FLA 3 decades after costarring with Sir Connery, L. Fishburne and 12 year old ScarJo in this little gem and AA has added it to its Entertainment Lineup. What a great birthday present! I'm even on this poster...
Happy "Lee surrenders to Grant" Day, to those who celebrate. To those who don't, well, I don't GAF what kind of day you have...
I love your posts, because I love dogs, and the humor in your commentary is beyond reproach. However, I swoon over Beagles and Dachshunds because I grew up with one of each, so when people gift me doggo swag, if it's not one of those breeds, I've little affection for it. Stuff like this:
They certainly finished the job, with DeGrasse blockading the Chesapeake and Lafayette leading the land assault on Yorktown, but Arnold forced the surrender of 1/3 of the British Army at Saratoga 4 years before. All he has is this little known monument:
