Camp Funston was where the influenza epidemic which would kill more than 50 million people world-wide, including 675,000 Americans, first made a major appearance. We are between cat generations, so here is a favorite vintage one of our last duo

I think this spider was getting on my nerves with its agitation until I put a drop of water on the table. Afterwards it acted like a calm, friendly pup

No real expertise, but here is a suggested experiment: offer an agitated spider some water (which is probably best offered as a moistened cue-tip or piece of paper towel) and see if they drink it with apparent eagerness and then calm down

In the final picture it is facing the camera and appears to be looking at the viewer with what in my imagination is something like gratitude$
