Michele, a Ghost of Cinders
@ghostofcinders
35, they/them, based in Italy. I write about monsters & myths. TTRPG freelancer, writer & developer, often for Onyx Path. I'll geek out about books, movies, games, and RPGs.
I've just received my copy of They Came from the RPG Anthology!, which is the latest release for a line I've been infesting with insistence for years, by now. For this one, I wrote the Western chapters (given Italians do those better) and the pirate one. Now, to wait for Witchford Academy.
Shout-out to this awesome Hades 2 sticker I got and still can't decide where to put. Who's your favorite familiar, by the way? I love them all, but can't deny Hecuba is my most frequent companion.
Speaking of which, here's the upcoming new Killer, and I won't hide a "hear me out."
Unholy Entity, this delivers *everything* in game too. Can't wait to unlock it.
This past week made me reflect about two tv series that gave little me a lot. The Odyssey with Armand Assante was a boon for a young mythology geek, and the gem that was Sam Neill's Merlin truly shaped me in ways I'm constantly amazed to recognize (and its soundtrack never left me.)
It's been like 8 months since I got the previous one around here, but new Poison Ivy volume day!
Sites remind me of this cool pic of my congregation of plushies. ... it's also a bit old, and the collection grew in size in the meantime. But I like this pic a lot, so I'm sharing it.
Today is treat day, with this fancy edition of Witch Hat Atelier, plus stolen AC as I sit on a table of the local mall. Just look at this beauty and the extra art at its end!
The conversation in Scion spaces ever since the announcement of 3E has been extremely validating when it comes to our work and design choices, but this one is a bit more personal, since Thorns was my character and I'm carrying them around the line ever since:
I've basically spent the last couple of days rushing the Scion hype train and need to slow down a sec lest I crash or make silly mistakes. So today we chill a bit. Let's crack open this bad boy.
Today I remember with affection the anime Montecristo, with mecha fights and space vampire demons. To Gankutsuo, which was both good and bad, both more accurate than many other adaptations and unapologetically less so. Truly an experience. This was Edmond, btw:
Yeah. It's gone. Thanks for everything, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
Sigh. Could people please avoid messing up with my best efforts to make things work and ensure everyone is happy for five minutes?!
I need you all to see the dice set that comes with the Arcane season 2 Blu Ray I've ordered for myself after working election sites last June. Italian government money paid for those. The Viktor dice.
No matter what you celebrate today, happy holidays everyone! I hope you'll enjoy the winter festivities. I know they can be both merry & daunting, sometimes a mix of both. Family, reflections, expenses...that can be a lot. But here's hoping you'll find some respite in the spirit of the season.
A book I just got. With a reminder that yes, I still have a massive phobia of fungi and parasites (The Last of Us was tough for me) And yet I keep going there when I write, again and again. With great results, even. Because if they scare me, they should scare my readers/players too.
For me, there was life before Raziel and then after. He changed my brain chemistry forever.
Zohaki is my They Came from the Cyclops's Cave! answer to Demise from Zelda, Morgoth, and honestly any "evil god" from Pulp Fantasy and JRPGs. The art by Brian Leblanc below it got always makes an impression.
