Looking for open-science and meta-research events? Been tracking these in the past month, manual and automated. Encouraging to see that there are quite a few. If you want to see what I'm keeping track of: metaventory.vercel.app/events?view=...
Looking for open-science and meta-research jobs? To my surprise tracking these in the last month there are more of these than I expected. Here's where I'm tracking these: metaventory.vercel.app/jobs
⚡ Metaventory: building better science ⚡ Had many discussions about the need for mapping out all that's meta-science: people, tools, events, jobs, simulations, etc. in one place. Metaventory aims to help connect those interested in meta-science & improving science. metaventory.vercel.app

Added WebR, working very fast and well, thank you for suggesting this. This makes a lot more sense. Appreciate it. If you have any other suggestions, I'm very interested. See below "Private, runs in your browser".
Ah, got it, thanks for explaining. No problem. Integrated that now. Shows as pages in preview mode, on the top right you can switch from continuous to "Pages". Press the pages, and you'll get what you see in the screenshot. Check if that works (hard refresh), and if you have any other requests.
You don't see the "page" in the toolbar? If you click that it adds page break. Try and let me know if it's missing for reason (Hard refresh to your browser, maybe).
It's also on CRAN for you to run locally. I do recommend installing from Github because I keep improving it, and CRAN limits updates to 2-3 months. CRAN: cran.r-project.org/web/packages... Github (also with a local Shiny): github.com/giladfeldman...
The wesbite: escicheckapp.vercel.app Still runs on a free plan, please be patient with server wakeups after idle, but it can show the power of the tool.
== Effect Size and Confidence Intervals (ESCI) check == Lots improved. Has a revamped website and R package on CRAN. Works like statcheck, also checks effect sizes and calculates confidence intervals. Tricky countless edge cases, but after testing it on 1000s of articles, seems pretty decent.
Thanks for trying and reporting that! I think I resolved this,. Pushed a new version. Also added a math heavy example so that I can see math. Hopefully fixed now, please retry and let me know. If you have any other bugs/ideas, please, I'm very interested.
CodaNote: Collaborative Markdown/Quarto/Rmarkdown People were looking for collaborating on MD family files with knit rendering... I built this tool for CORE team, works like Google Docs. Opened it to all from internal use so everyone can use it. Feedback welcome! Try: codanote.vercel.app
I meant it as a tool like reciteworks to help us check our own work before submission. I also like your approach. Still work in progress, but has lots of fun things. Just to show a bit of the other functionality we already have in there... Given similarities, maybe can combine forces.
(CC: @lakens.bsky.social @renebekkers.bsky.social) It's nice to see this developing. Well done on the whole thing. I created something similar to that internally for the CORE team (alpha), was able to integrate all current metacheck functionality in about 20 minutes, so that's nice. Have a look..

It's absolutely amazing the a PCIRR Stage 2 community endorsed manuscript automatically is accepted in a journal like Royal Society Open Science with no additional peer review needed. Go PCIRR friendly journals! rr.peercommunityin.org/about/pci_rr... Why aren't there more journals joining?
Amazing work for a =UG= thesis by Amy. Students can do remarkable work. Grateful for PCIRR open positive and constructive peer review process: doi.org/10.24072/pci... Thank you for reviews: Barnabas Szaszi, Féidhlim McGowan, and Chris Chambers Thank you Thaler for your work.
In prediction polls I ran on TwitterX back in 2022, 73.3% of 30 votes thought it would successfully replicate. Poll: x.com/giladfeldman... See that thread to check how that compares to the other predictions.

We conducted a replication & extensions of Thaler (1999), the seminal =review article = of mental accounting covering many studies in behavioral economics. A very complex replication project. Conclusion: Mostly successful, support for 11 of 17 scenarios, 3 mixed, 3 no support.

Our PCIRR Stage 2 Registered Report now officially accepted by Royal Society Open Science: "Revisiting mental accounting classic paradigms: Replication Registered Report of the problems reviewed in Thaler (1999)" Mengfei Li's remarkable UG RRR thesis. Details 👇🧵
Of 28, 16 (57%) successfully replicated. Expert forecasters were overoptimistic: prediction markets expected 70%, surveys expected 65%. Correlations between predictions & outcomes were not high (r = 0.43), & weaker for survey (r = 0.26). AI summary: mgto.org/forecastinga...
Read: www.researchgate.net/publication/... Thanks, Anna Dreber & economist team that made this a reality, & @PRASAC for taking lead. Main question: Can prediction markets and surveys accurately predict if classic social psychology & JDM findings will replicate in new data collections?
Accepted for publication at Royal Society Open Science: "Using prediction markets and forecasting surveys to predict 28 replication outcomes of classic articles in social psychology and judgment and decision making" Going meta-science on our CORE team replications Details👇🧵
