Writer. Scripts, but before that journalism. Still stumbles across a story every now and then. Makes swords and bows, fixes robots, likes cats. Even better in person. I have ADHD and who knows what else. He/Him.
Here is my finished weapon. After being dipped in a (I am not making this up) a sacred pool. It's the same design and shape as a classic Celtic bronze sword, which is why it looks a little small in my hands. Anyway, I'm quite hyped for The Odyssey tonight, a poem I have a rare connection with.
Making weapons from Bronze feels magic adjacent. The sword is cast in soapstone and then pulled out, which is perhaps where the Arthur myth came from. In this picture we are putting the handle on. I got hold of some bog oak. Dark as midnight and an absolute diva to work with.
On the second night of sword making in Wales the swordmaster read us The Odyssey. He explained it was the wrong culture for the the bronze work we were doing, but it was from the right time. We sat in a thatched roundhouse and listened to a poem as old as bronze working.
They said that Kiss From A Rose was too mental to work as a song, and yet now you are humming the tune.
That moment when you realise your wife is buying sleep drugs from an alternative universe Lady Gaga
I think I need to go and get my bike and see where this jump goes. It's definitely got portal energy.
I love it when the grass in Brockwell Park gets long and yellow in the sun. It is a time for middle-aged Roman history enthusiasts to wander through the fields of wheat and dream of Elysium.
Weather is having a remix and everyone is more South then they used to be. Are Scottish people ready to become midlanders? I'm fairly sure Kent/Surrey will adapt to being French. North Wales is now Cornish, obviously. The Cornish are Catalonian. Hull is the new London.
The tiny group of men in suits who were pointedly not hanging with the Green Party gang have left. Several dogs have been told they are good. A nice bug landed on my hand.
There are so many Green supporters that they are taking an official photo. I appreciate that the photographer is making sure everyone is in the shade.
The anointed leader of the government is apparently going to appear in this small park in London The traffic lights nearby aren't working. A busy four way junction on the South Circular, just left for people to work out? Is this a metaphor for something?
Here is the post. Incredible loser energy. A+ didn't know he had it in him.
This would be an advert you'd see in a moderately dark sci-fi setting.
This is the finale to a snail action film. You can see the trail left by the hero snail as they skidded a 180 to help their fallen friend.
Anyway. It turned out lovely. So nice the head of the organisation was impressed but also now I was ACTUALLY friends with Father Christmas, and I mean that functionality, for my kids. The FC they met was real. He knew what they had been up to or which thing they were into. It was great.
I have voted. There weren't any dogs so I took a photo of this corvid* eating a carpet in a bin. #ModernBritain. #Ivoted #localelections *Yes I asked permission first, they were fine with it.
Work continues! I've added the USB A / 3.5mm ports to the sleeves. I've got them underslung because the weight was always going to pull them there. The USB A lets you connect, well anything to a sleeve and access the computer. The 3.5mm port is going to be used for [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]!
The glue on Pinky's bow was failing. Luckily I had some thread that was just the right colour to reattach it, even if doing so did feel a bit like that part in Manon Des Sources*. Pinky has now fully recovered and is doing what ever Sprunki do. *Where the guy sews a ribbon onto his chest.
I have no clue what is the right glue to fix a crayon but tape works. This is a terrible repair and yet the person is absolutely thrilled and took the crayon to bed. People are weird.
Gosh, does this jolly well explain why have so many lesbian friends? Original source here: youtube.com/shorts/IyiTH...
Popped into the Makerspace to reshape the handle on my bow, also fixed a friend's trousers before they go to court.
A dead pretend pig. The bow making ceremony is complete. I am a bowyer.
Oh look. It's MY BOW, that I made from scratch in three days using hand tools. It is beautiful.
