No hit wonder. Author of EIGHT crime novels set in Glasgow. (bad ratings are political, truly but weirdly). Economic migrant.
Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Iridescence? Violet-tailed Sylph, Mindo, Ecuador.
Need a haircut desperately. Have gone straight past previous "inspiration" Paulie Walnuts and now it's it's homicide-era Phil Spector.
Maybe just in the UK, but CBS really did nail samplers back then - see Fill Your Head With Rock and Rockbusters, both double albums, plus earlier single albums, too. Not entirely "rock"; more like two sides rock, one acoustic and one blues rock. And a wee bit satanism. (Yes, that's Arnold in 1970)
Together at last: K-Pop boybands and the lyrical, yearning poetry of WB Yeats.
Quite odd that he's been photographed with Ceaușescu, especially since the old Stalinist was executed on Xmas Day, 1989.
I hope the PR/marketing company got paid a fortune to provide this insightful, complex and stimulating slogan.
Glaswegian essentials: your mammy always taught you to say "please" and, if seeking to travel by rail, to use this service...
Drama: got my room key and I'm in 9-1-1. I'm therefore obligated to cause the activation of emergency services. ... come ahead, cave rescue!
Currently in Kyoto, Japan, and must admit to astonishment that locals are so invested in the return of the blessed Martin.
In an over-emphatic attempt to duck the incoming world cup hype, I seem to have fetched up in Tokyo. That should do it. It's not like they play football in Japan, is it?
It's a conundrum. If the road is closed until June 31st, does it NEVER re-open?
This artist's work is superb - especially recommended for Glaswegians; beautiful scale models of buildings and locations, most recently the pre-fire Union St corner. www.facebook.com/karenjbones?...
Who'll play Peter Murrell in the TV adaptation? My money's on Toby Jones. (John Cena has a gift for deadpan comedy, though, and would work as intriguingly counter-intuitive.)
At a quick glance, I thought you'd posted a picture of the Cambodian embassy there. It's in Kilburn, or Brondesbury Park, if you're in Amandaland.
Today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Texture, so here's a Malachite Sunbird in Cape Town. On, I think, a Pin-cushion Protea.
That one is AI - this one is from the Alamy photo agency and is real. It's just as clear. [photo credit - Alamy]
Sometimes, I lament the lack of passionate Tims on Bluesky but in a genre stretch, I invite all Tims to enjoy a Malachite Sunbird, while inviting everybody else to enjoy a victory for the world's most/only radical fans. Obviously, all y'all can enjoy both - youtu.be/Vn3Q1THsyto #Celtic/birds
#BirdOfTheDay theme is #DucksOutOfWater? Eurasian Wigeon, England. Male.
On a long-neck roll with #birdoftheday theme. This is a Sandhill Crane, easy to see and photograph in Florida, but this also shows a street, a mailbox and *two* long necks. The birds were on the path/porch of the house. They would surely have come in, given the chance.
I'm always a day late with my #BirdOfTheDay theme pics, due to not living in California, probably. Anyway - long necks? This is a Grey Heron, lounging around on the banks of the Grand Union canal. The blue tones in the background are from a passing canal narrowboat.
#BirdOfTheDay theme #BirdButt? Wild Turkey @ Madera Canyon, Arizona, USA.
