Kai filled the room after his brother had passed in 2022, bonding like he had never before. He fully blossomed in his later life into the greatest companion I could ask for. We were inseparable.
Following our trip to Japan, and a visit with specialists, Kai was diagnosed with a slow growing brain tumor. With limited options at age 16 we were given 3-6 months with Kai. We showered him with the same love and affection he had his whole life. Kai went peacefully in April.
The tail end of 2025 into 2026 was a revolving door to the vet with Kai — with new and missed diagnoses throughout.
