Today the great 15 year adventure of Frieda's life came to a close. After months of gradual decline now she runs eternal in dreams. One day it will not hurt so, but I will always miss her.

Time for a #SketchoftheWeek! I spotted this scene on a local trail called ELV. It's decorated with little garden gnomes. Two golden-mantled ground squirrels were reasserting their sovereignty over the stump.

This hillside was entirely lupins. Only a few were flowering. Across the drainages buckwheat, penstemon, and gilia mixed in. It was a humbling experience.
