Was sifting through my e-mails when I got jumped-scared by this screen-cap from The Big Lebowski (1998).

Watched episode 9 of Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, and the town that they stay at is literally Dawnstar from Skyrim. 🤣

Watched The Beast of Hollow Mountain (1956), which managed to ruin a serviceable Western with the most low-rent stop-motion animation T-rex I've ever seen. 🦖 Bad stop-motion really makes you appreciate the magic of Ray Harryhausen's work, in contrast. The Valley of Gwangi (1969) is way better.

It's the same joke every time, but I'll reiterate that my favorite running gag in Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider is that nobody recognizes the protagonist unless he's got his cheap little plastic mask on. 😆

Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider continues to nail a tone of silliness presented with sincerity, and my favorite example of that so far is the gag where they give the random bear that Tojima keeps beating up while training in the mountains an internal monologue. 🐻

About to be on the receiving end of a furious Rider Kick, a grizzled brown bear with a scar over its left eye contemplates the absurdity of its situation in a scene from Episode 8 of the Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider TV anime. The subtitles read: "But my submission pose!"

Episode 2 of Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider, and we get the double-reveal of 1.) the existence of other would-be vigilantes that want to be Kamen Rider heroes, in this case Tackle from Kamen Rider Stronger and 2.) the revelation that Shocker actually exists. Animators are clearly having fun, too.

Watched the 1st episode of The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess on Crunchyroll. It's another send up of the "villainess" trope, only this time it's a office lady who gets Truck-kun-ed into a fanfic-level world that she created when she was in middle school, so it's mega-cringe as a gag.

Watched the 1st episode of Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider, a show about embracing one's inner cringe, on Crunchyroll. Premise is a 40 year old Kamen Rider fanatic is ready to give up on his dream of being a real super hero, until a chance encounter with "Shocker"-themed robbers changes his fate.

Watched the 1st episode of May I Ask for One Final Thing? (aka "One-Punch Lass") on Crunchyroll. The premise is the heroine is unjustly accused of villainy and dumped by her abusive fiancé, the 2nd Prince, and she proceeds to beat the stuffing out of him and all of his cronies with her bare fists.

Spattered with the blood of a horde of venal bozos that she just thrashed with her bare hands, young noble lady Scarlet El Vandimion positively beams at the prospect of the violence that she has inflicted in a scene from Episode 1 of the May I Ask for One Final Thing? TV anime.

Some Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail nerdery this morning. I made a Halloween glamour for my Dark Knight job. It's a tiny Gideon the Ninth from the Locked Tomb trilogy.

I just realized I never shared this screen-cap from the Lalafell-only Alliance raid that I led through The Tower at Paradigm's Breach in Final Fantasy XIV a few weeks ago. This is us all mugging at 2B after finishing off the last boss. I'm the one on right in the Popola cosplay.

NieR Automata's "Battle-type" android 2B is surrounded by approximately 24 tiny, gnome-like humanoids in a washed out environment made of concrete blocks. This is the results of a "Lalafell-exclusive" Alliance raid, in which only players with Lalafell characters participate. We are all making goofy faces and hand gestured with the "surprised" emote. It is a truly chaotic scene, appropriate for Lalafell players.
