hi. i wrote to bluesky support about this and you should too. its easy.

I'm writing to voice my discontent with the recent/upcoming changes to bluesky's terms of service.

The new restrictions placed on what kinds of fictional NSFW content can be posted on bluesky are very disappointing to say the least. You asked for feedback on these changes, the community made itself clear and yet again you have ignored their attempts to stop you from destroying your own platform.

There is no excuse to place any restrictions on fictional work. Period. Bluesky already has ways for users to curate their feeds and block/mute users and tags they don't like. Doing so is very much an attack on the free speech and freedom of expression of your users.

Not only that, but policies like the ones added in this newest TOS update will undoubtedly negatively impact the queer community on bluesky. bluesky's current popularity as an alternative to Twitter came about initially due to queer people moving away from twitter due to Elon's takeover and the updated policies on there making it less safe for us. And over and over again you have thrown us under the bus at every given chance. You are actively making it harder for your own most dedicated users to wish to remain on this platform.

Lastly i'd like to highlight that the changes specifically restricting fictional depictions of ‘non-consensual activity’ are, as has already been pointed out to you by many, harmful to survivors of real-life abuse, as fiction is often an outlet for many to cope with their trauma.

If these changes go into effect i have no doubt in my mind that many people will be leaving bluesky for good, including me. It simply is just not a good environment for bluesky to be in where the userbase is constantly having to fight so that the platform doesn't self destruct.

I don't know if its malice, incompetence, unawareness or whatever else that's causing these baffling decisions to be made, but bluesky simply wont survive if this keeps up. I urge you to reconsider these TOS changes and to, for once, actually listen to your community.
