Earagail/Errigal. A fantasy mountain: a blade of quartzite rising from blanket bog. Summit ridge nicely exposed. Reputed to have the best summit views of any mountain in Ireland.

Maybe not.

First proper 🌶 harvest of the summer. Plenty more to come!

New volunteers on site this morning. Hopefully not baaaaad workers....

An interesting day at Glendalough...a Revd John Wesley Methodist plate was not on my list of expected finds... C19 Methodist Chapel near(ish) in Rathdrum. Or possible link to C19 Cornish miners in the area.? Also very, very midgey...

First day on site at Glendalough for our @ucdarchaeology.bsky.social training excavation. Only 40 (FORTY!!) people on site today. Great progress - in rather mixed weather, ending up with our first trowelling lines of the season. And one piece of medieval ceramic before the end of the day as well...

Lots of activity on our last fieldwork day at Mount Sandel. Coring in the woods (and a challenge for GPS!), volunteers helping process samples, Borough Council filming us and lots of visitors! Great day.

We have upgraded our mobile coring shelter! But it would be nice if t would stop raining....

Another fine day in Mount Sandel (despite the rain). Our new mobile coring facility was very useful. Nice finds from the cores, and a chance to give volunteers a chance to help, and share what we are doing with other stakeholders. 1/2
