I will not run, climb, or jump. I will not sit, kneel, or lie down.
It doesn't get proper dark in Seattle until like 10:30 in the summer, which is *fine* if you get blackout curtains or a sleep mask. The winters are rough, though. It's pitch black by 4:30 or 5:00, and it's raining all the time; easy to go a few weeks without seeing the sun.
I really wish I remembered the sources for these photos of 2022 Seattle I saved to my phone. :(
This 1st-2nd century funeral portrait at the Seattle Art Museum. The guy looks just like Bill Murray, and for whatever reason that really drove home the fact that all these historical people are PEOPLE, in the same way that modern people are.
They're building a new apartment building across the street from me which is noisy as hell, but also means that I get to go watch them build a new apartment building whenever I feel like.
I don't know, a big mac costs $7 in Seattle, where the minimum wage is $21/hr, and a big mac costs $5.50 in Pittsburgh, where minimum wage is $7.25/hr. Restaurants generally do better with a higer minimum wage, because more people can afford to eat out. www.cashnetusa.com/blog/most-ex...
hey, same! I think I've still got a binder full of fandubs around here somewhere, and depression
these lazy fuckers did a bad job of building a nest and didn't give a shit that I was bumbling around two feet away from them
What is the opposite of a "I bought this BEFORE Elon went crazy!" bumper sticker?
Have you read Motherland Fatherland Homelandsexuals? Really great book of poetry from Patricia Lockwood, the first poem is about how the American "homeland" unpleasantly sterilizes this choice.
Let's compare that to the cost of owning a home: Inflation-adjusted median wages have grown by 12%, and housing costs are up 200%. www.longtermtrends.com/home-price-v...
Like, it's this guy, a notoriously thin-skinned white nationalist with a fairly explicit cultural agenda, calling the shots. We know that he is algorithmically suppressing his political opponents, while boosting white nationalists and false-flag "leftists." He's not bothering to be subtle about it!
Queen ants are born with wing so they can fly off and form a new colony. Ants are technically a weird kind of wasp!
While out on a walk, I saw a bumblebee feeding on a flower where it basically had to use its forelegs to pry apart the flower petals, which caused the stamen to pop out and rub on its belly.
Google took away the weather app on my phone so I designed and built this in a pique of anger. A physical artifact that hangs in my living room & gives me a weather forecast. They'll deprecate it out of my cold dead hands.
