Talk about a surprise role. Humphrey Bogart plays a vampire in 1939’s “The Return of Doctor X”
The French Foreign Legion said, “we need something elegant for our emblem;” while the Spanish Foreign Legion said, “put all the weapons in there…I said ALL the weapons!”
1928 Movie hustle culture advice 🤣 (Card from Buster Keaton’s 1928 movie, The Camera Man.
I swear to the gods that @madcavestudios.com has a research department dedicated to finding comic adaptations of movies that *I* love and reprinting them. All I can say is, good on you Mad Cave, take all my damned money. Geez…Al Williamson doing Flash Gordon is the best!
Name a film with a title that is a full sentence. Throw Momma from the Train
We need a version of this term for comics!
fan of The Saint, or any comic fan, will want to have in their collection. We have limited signed copies from Mike as well as a deluxe cover only available during the campaign. And, for true fans of The Saint, we have a limited number of enamel pins of your favorite stick figure! Back us today!
I love the short box t-shirt you wore on @umactually.dropout.tv Tournament of Champions @enthusiamy.bsky.social! Can you tell me where you got it (if you remember)?
We are all set up at Heroes Con! Stop by and see us at tables 1888 & 1889! #heroescon
This print, which we will be selling for the first time at Heroes Con (or its free if you buy a comic), was inspired by conversations with the brilliant @anamariecox.com and was drawn by the equally brilliant @perfectstormpub.bsky.social (who is slowly creating a "Kirby Collection" for us).
In fact this is the only cover we are releasing with this comic, but we have two versions: The regular and the deluxe, which will ONLY be available during the Kickstarter campaign. You will want to grab a piece of comic book history by backing the campaignfor this 56-page comic book today.
I got nervous about using em dashes in comics because all these tools flag them as AI written, but then I remembered that Jack Freakin’ Kirby loved em dashes so much he added an extra dash! In fact, I think I’m going to turn all my — into —- because Jack Kirby.
Even more than that we have these incredible interiors from @vanguardcomic.bsky.social!
Be honest @timleong.bsky.social, did you throw a flipping Family Circus Easter Egg into issue 3 of Exploit? And are you going to be at Heroes or Baltimore so I can talk your ear off about this series?
We have a busy summer schedule planned for 2026 and we'd love to see you at one of our events! We're kicking off our "Summer of Comics" this Friday at @sleuthcon.bsky.social. But we'll also be at @heroescon.bsky.social and PulpFest as well a wonderful local makers mart! Join us, won't you?
Hey @thekylestarks.bsky.social please tell the editors at Vertigo that I would buy the hell out of Pluto Stationary. Seems like a lovely town!
Stephen Colbert wrote a parody pundit book called: I Am America (And So Can You!) When he was hosting the Colbert Report.
If you are like us, you’re going to be watching the last episode of The Late Show with sadness. But, I love that Colbert IS unabashed in his nerdom and is never afraid to speak out against things he sees as wrong. Good luck in whatever you decide to do next, Stephen.
From the attackers. And you can see those attackers as ever present while the two are descending. I also love that it’s not a perfect escape, Kirby (love the name choice) is not an action star - they slip, miscalculate, and kind of figure it put on the fly. This is such a good comic.
Kudos to @emilianapinna.bsky.social for the crazy good art! First of all, a double page spread “pin-up” style works really well here, especially with one of the women being agoraphobic, it FEELS like a long way down. The layout and design adds to the tension, as do the off-panel word bubbles…
Hanging out at Tampa Airport and there is @alexsegura.com’s book right at eye level!
Canonically, Green Arrow makes the best chili. I’ll leave it to the reader to decide if chili = soup.
The unveiling of Jack Kirby Way at Essex and Delaney. It was a thrill to be here today to honor one of the greatest, if not the greatest comic legends.
Congratulations @nicolegoux.bsky.social this panel freaked me the F out. This issue felt like old school Twilight Zone!
was more known for their sci-fi, and Weird Tales leaned more heavily into horror. But, there were at least two Weird Tales (both from the 20s) that featured metal men on them (amazing covers, by the way). So, it’s definitely possible Cain was referring to these. Man, this was a fun rabbit hole.
I want to call out something interesting in issue 3 of @christophcondon.bsky.social & @thatjacobphillips.bsky.social excellent The Peril of the Brutal Dark. Ezra Cain makes an off-hand comment about metal men and “Weird Tales” magazine. That through me off a bit, because in 1940 Amazing Stories…
As I was reading @hackintimseeley.bsky.social & Ryan O’Nan’s Pretty Hate Machine, I kept asking myself, “Are they doing a Hamlet?” Then I saw this… So, yea, they’re doing a Hamlet 🤣 youtube.com/shorts/c4vMh...
Oh no, what happened to Wilma Deering’s clothes? I’ll tell you what happened: you were drawn by a cartoonist who knew side boob sells comics 🤣🤣🤣!
Hey, @otherverseg.bsky.social how is your quill and ink doing?
