A long pedigree of stealing babies and eating the rich! Currently 20 years into being a Full-time Carer for a partner in the advanced stage of Huntington's Disease.
I choose to believe something like this, it helps ease my loss and my existential angst at the same time. This would truly be heaven!
It's worth it because then it gives me someone to cuddle when I get back into bed. I go back to sleep faster then.
As an amusing aside, this is what AI came back with when I asked it to show what the doggies would look like as humans!!
It was just after that when I found this beautiful Charles Barsotti cartoon. This helped me, not that I'm religious, but I choose to believe that love never dies.
My last one, Zac, a rescue I loved for 10 years, was on Sydney's Covid Lock-down Monday about 6.5 years ago. I was also telling him what a good boy he was, over and over until I closed his eyes. I can't help but cry every time I think or talk about it.
I'm a full time carer for a wife with Huntington's Disease so as I'm home all day a close friend drops her two doggos off at my place during the day when she goes to work. I have one dog normally. The three of them love hanging together and have included my wife and respite carers in their "Pack".
One of my all time favourite pics is this one I took at that same time of an unknown Mother and Son.
My partner, that I still care for at home, has deteriorated from Huntington's Disease for over 30 years. This post reminded me of a pic from before the symptom onset!
25 years ago I started caring for my then partner of 15 years as her Huntington's Disease started manifesting. She has functionally been like a 2 month old for the last 10 years. I also get none of those nice things but am definitely not doing without my dog!
There is one sure solution to them that the French discovered years ago!!!
Love them! About 30 years ago I planted a 30cm tall China Doll tree in my backyard. Families of Rainbow Lorikeets swarm my now 15m tall tree for a few months every year to feed on the seed pods.
