Fanatical recently had a bundle for the old Dark Conspiracy RPG and boy do I have some thoughts. It wasn't bad, maybe I'll write up a review.
Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is an insanely good show with vibes that are off the chart.
Spanish horror is on a high and The Wailing (2024) is an excellent example of it. Very like It Follows, but with its own unique approach.
Calling it: all movies should be from the perspective of the dog from now on.
If you're headed to #UKGE2025 you can buy copies of CONT/EXT from the nice people at @uktin.bsky.social. They're at table 383 in the NEC Hall 2.
Just finished Octavia Butler's post- (mid?) apocalyptic classic, Parable of the Sower. You can see how it influenced things like The Road and 28 Days Later. Lots about environmental catastrophe and authoritarian capitalism, relevant to our present.
The Storm Beneath the World was kinda silly in places, but a lot of fun and some really interesting worldbuilding.
From S01E03, Jodi was a bit-character who shows up with a list of complaints. She earns House’s respect by admitting she’s just getting the most out of her insurance before she’s fired. “I just don't like being told what to do.” Same, Jodi, same.
This kind of casually passive-aggressive response is exactly why I hate forums/Discords.
Not sure if I'm enjoying this. Apart from the lurid cover, it's quite slow and rambling, but I want to know what happens.
Sometimes I think about things. For example, gritty, shared-universe reboots they'll never make.
"Do we spoil the dog?" I wonder to myself as we serve him his own Christmas dinner.
The Ember Blade by Wooding wasn't bad. I'm not normally into epic fantasy, but this was fairly gripping low fantasy.
