Woke up to lightning and thunder. Here is the best photo I managed to get.

The photo is the outside sky taken through a window. There are tree tops in the bottom portion of the photo, eaves in the top portion, and the rest of it is white light from sheet lightning filling the sky.

Looks so 2000 late. Giant Bomb had their office in a similar looking building back in 2010.

Nature is waking up more and more. I didn't get pics of the goslings, but they were pretty cute. Anyway, the duck and squirrel both felt comfortable being near me in the hopes for food. I disappointed them.

The Oregon Coast Range was so beautiful this morning. Pockets of a bright Grey sky behind a line of trees, deciduous on the right, leaves yellow or fallen, conifer on the left, green and majestic. The ocean was roiling, too, which is always nice.

I'm reading through the new #Malazan book that came out today - No Life Forsaken, and this quote really popped out to me. Separation of church and state was one of the great ideas of America's founders, and all of those who are working to end that separation are setting us up for a fall.

Arenfall shrugged. "The doctrine is muddled, Adjunct. Once you apply holy words to secular interpretation, the very sacredness of those words becomes tarnished. Oppression of rival beliefs answers mundane needs, not godly ones. The same for political independence."
