Freelance Illustrator/2D concept artist for videogames - prev. Stoic, ArenaNet, Motiga He/Him, Views are my own, I sometimes post artstation.com/guyfugly
I think my results were skewed by one of the images just straight up showing the raw, unredacted description placard next to the artifact
Hey, #portfolioday I'm Eric. I do environments and props and characters and whatnot for games. I'm a style glutton and perpetually on the hunt for projects that push me out of my comfort zone. Here's a few recent things folk paid me to make.
I was maybe kinda obsessed with the Wieliczka salt mine around when I was doing this biome
Artblast piggyback. Towerborne came out last week so I'm gonna post a couple jpegs about it I did over 4 of these
Update: not bad! Definitely could have made the smoke critters darker and done some bolder color blends. wish I’d printed smaller also I’m a printmaker baybee
Taking a risograph workshop this Sunday so I made a guy. I have no idea how this will turn out, we won't even know the colors we'll be using until day of Good luck guy, and I'm sorry
A few more concepts from my friend's action-adventure-magic-melee-slimelike game Slime Heroes Click the link for a 100% chance to buy the game store.steampowered.com/app/1511880/...
I don't think I ever posted this environment concept. It's called Pokemon, and I made it
Towerborne, the game I've been doing environment art for, had its Game Preview launch on Game Pass yesterday. They gave me the privilege of painting up some alternate key art for it Not just the rocks and trees even, they let this environment guy draw the folks and hands and faces and everything 💦
Here's some guys I was contracted to design for it a few years back. Please have them.
The end of spooktime approaches. I worked with some friends on a horror game a couple years ago. Pitch was about trying to clean a haunted house while avoiding random assortments of ghouls. Didn't end up going anywhere but doing monster designs for it was a ton of fun
Some more PinOCchio sketches from earlier in the week, experimenting with different types of "shitty little kid posture".
his dad's hand is his heart also I guess, i donno. There might be too much happening here for a doll called Gnocchi. Content warning for mummy hand stuff? Can someone coach me on etiquette here?
Working on my original Pinocchio "Gnocchi" for D&D. Lots of wild inconsistencies in proportions, still figuring out the core shapes, just don't look at that part. Or do look. Go on, really get in there. Let it radicalize you.
I don't even remember why the dimensions were so screwy with these. We were getting so many random marketing asks and nothing ended up consistent, lol
Feeling....... various ways about the hows and whys of Gigantic coming back. Happy for the fans at least. Donno if I ever posted these old skin illustrations for various promos. They might never get used again. Look. Hurry, look at them! Look!
The past couple years I've had the pleasure of working as a painter/concept artist on Stoic's Towerborne ( towerborne.com ) Can't share most of what I've done but a few loose jpegs have oozed out through the cracks in the machine. Have some ooze, won't you?
If you ever need to be reminded of the importance of warm up sketches, please direct your attention to this 3 minute sketch, and then look at the one I did 10 minutes earlier.
