Left some glow tokens out in the full sun. Gosh. They’re now casting actual light, not just a visible glow. Having lived in close proximity with these for some time, I am expecting my powers will manifest shortly.

I don’t know if you’ll remember that I was a bit worried about the response to this ad on Meta platforms. Well… the future is healing. It’s almost finished its run over there. 1.2k likes, zero negative comments. Embrace puppet. #ttrpg #maskwitches
Built a big pile of skulls on Saturday, like you do. David Skeleton got some new glow in the dark eyes, which I think have a real Ralph Bakshi vibe which I am enjoying. This of course is a set up for imagery for the new Maskwitches GM’s Companion. www.backerkit.com/c/projects/h... #maskwitches
I know, I know, “this unsolicited promo advice is all well and good, but what about the resin tokens?” the people cry. “Show us them!” I’m happy with this next gen of super chonks. Palm-sized nuggets of sunken forest with mystical low light glow features.
(Apologies if you’ve ever told me what to do in a reply. I just hid you? I keep the wise words of Michael Lipsey to hand at all times.)
And guess who was with him? Yeah, David SkeletonAp, and they were both laughing at me Find out more about David Skeleton here: making-maskwitches.ghost.io/a-short-hist... Get Maskwitches at the ENNies Emporium! www.backerkit.com/c/projects/h... #maskwitches

How did the new tokens come out? Lovely. This is the Eutrophication set, where algae blooms spread across the encapsulated mini landscape inside each token. I meant that when I made them. It was not a happy accident relating to my reading. Wait no, the other thing. It was. #maskwitches
Remember these? Wrote them off as failures but then polished them and they worked so well, but also: glow in the dark to amazing, unexpected effect. (Here slightly enhanced by iPhone camera lowlight capabilities, but not egregiously so). Anyway. Made another batch. Gotta wait till they set though.
I switched the smoke machine back on. This week I’d discovered I could fit a metal curtain pole to the smoke machine, and it delivers a very specific kind of cloud. And that’s how the shot in the first post came about. It’s an image I’m super happy with.
But then, as starting to close down for the day, & because I’ve learned this by doing, I was mindful as I was switching off my lights to see how the set looked. With one light remaining - an unusually bright light facing directly at the models - things looked kinda exciting.
I then set up this tableau. You can see the hedge clippings - just someone else’s refuse - in there. I shot a load of photos.
I know what you're thinking - the baton? The pierced rod? The ancient rope maker/deer driver/ritual symbol of status... did it turn out ok? Yeah it did. Painted it today, took some photos. I'm always torn because I'd like to jazz it up with some cordage and beads but not lose the form? #maskwitches
About to run this as a paid ad on Facebook. Wondering about the level of interaction from people who do not like the idea of rejecting AI and embracing puppet. We'll see. Anyway. Embrace puppet: www.backerkit.com/c/projects/h... #ttrpg #maskwitches
Tiny bit more work on my perforated rod. The mix of fimo and sculpey worked just fine, and actually I really like how it’s come out. I suspect I’ll need to paint this one, but for now the material looks cool. It’s sanding nicely, which will really help it get the proper shape and look less “clay”.
In the oven, and any glimpse of the edge of it is redolent of a delicious pasty or naan bread. However it’s just a stupid model you can’t even eat.
Getting there! Soon I will command the elk/straighten the spears/make rope/do some stuff that’s not suitable for this account to talk about. Ran out of sculpey so mixing in some fimo soft, which could turn out disastrously but hey. Live dangerously once in a while.
Finn info. Exhausted after completing his democratic duties.
So in today’s two hour slot of nonsense creative time we’re gonna make an as-close-to-life-size-as-I-have-clay-for “command baton” out of super sculpey. But also, taking votes on if I should buy a degasser for my resin projects.
Made a thing for a friend: constructed a little maskwitches mask and then resin'd the heck out of it so it could survive the journey and be a permanent force of protection against evil spirits. While also looking TURBO SICK like a magic nugget from ancient days.
Show you a cool physical game? Hold on to your crayoned d20s it’s the Finnish version of red box d&d. Badly translated I gather but I don’t care I love it
I don’t normally use a respirator for photography with the smoke machine. It’s routinely a fairly brief exposure, and I air the place out really fast. But this one required absolutely unhinged smoke usage to get what I wanted. I’m so glad I used some PPE. Now resting outside became that was intense.
Nettle shot accomplished! Thanks for all the help on gloves. I had to move fast on this one as the nettles are turning, and once picked they don’t last. I have never used so much smoke. Or so many lenses just to be sure I got the shot. Did I? WHO KNOWS #maskwitches
The plan has been enacted! I had in my mind a shot for Maskwitches of nettles in a lot of smoke. I knew I’d need to move fast once they were picked because they wilt so quickly. And this morning provided my one window to harvest some - they’re already looking a bit past their prime!
Does anyone know if nitrile gloves are proof against nettle stings? I need to pick some nettles before they go over and as a "that could only happen to you" person who is likely to end up in the nettle patch, I'd like to protect my precious hands? What's the skinny. Photo for perverts or smthng idk
The real treasure was the friends we made along the way. Struggling to remove Clive Evil/David Skeleton off the post I attached them to a while back. It was quite thoroughly done by past me with a lot of screws, in a slightly terrifying medieval style. Turned around to see these fellows watching.
Well look what arrived! Very nice indeed, and recommended in our next book! :) Thanks @grahamwalmsley.bsky.social
