I spoke with Mitch McConnell for about 20 minutes today, told him about the desert tortoise I had, also named Mitch, who loved eating blueberries and hibiscus flowers and cactus. "Same," he said, and that was a nice moment. The senator should not go back to work.

How to do social media with an idiot:

This 3-panel cartoon - from top to bottom - starts with a stick figure smiling and raising a finger as if to say, "Hang on, let me respond to that." Then in the middle panel the finger sort of bends and the smile becomes more of a scowl, "Now, this is just not right." And in the final panel, the stick figure is seen walking away having said nothing.

A loon sits on a nest of eggs. The nest is made of reddish brown earth and reeds, and it sits in shallow water with a couple trees sprouting nearby.
