Harold Krell@haroldkrell· 24d A clip showing off the unique "hit point" system in Louny Balloony.
When Louny hits an object, he loses feathers and becomes temporarily stunned, but if a balloon gets hit, it pops! Mind your resources to stay afloat!

Here’s a Gun Metal Blue.

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· 28d A medley of Louny-related sprite animations showing off:
- Walking around
- Blowing up balloons
- Dashing through the air
- Bouncing on objects
- Getting severely injured

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jul 11 If she actually watched anything on Nickelodeon, she would've known better.

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jul 9 An old clip of the "feather duster" special attack.
Early on, it would be activated when you collected a certain amount of feathers, but that was dropped due to how much it made the game prioritize collecting feathers over any actual platforming.

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jul 6 Here's an old, weirdly-cropped clip of a rare bird enemy that has yet to appear any playable Louny content.
These birds dart from the right in groups and can fly in formations that the player has to navigate through.

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jul 3 An early parallax test of the sky level in Louny Balloony. It moves slower in the demo, but it's sped up here to showcase the illusion of depth, especially with the lower cloud layer. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jul 1 A clip from one of the earlier Louny demo prototypes. Aside from another feature of the special attack, this one in particular showed off the old feather balloon containers that have since been replaced by chests. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jun 28 An early clip of Louny interacting with various balloons. Blowing up his own, popping small ones, and bouncing bigger ones around. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jun 25 Here's one of the first clips I made testing out parallaxing backgrounds in Louny.
Also, at this point I had variable speed for my autoscroller where the level-scrolling speeds up the further right the player is on the screen.

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jun 22 Following from yesterday's post, it was also important for balloons to interact with the environment properly since they're essentially the player's hit points and shouldn't be hidden by terrain.
Here's an example of them navigating through narrow geometry.

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jun 20 It was important with Louny to nail down balloon physics early on -- not with just one, but potentially many balloons interacting with each other.
Here's an early stress test of seeing how many balloons the player could handle without breaking... too much.

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jun 17 Thinking of posting through my backlog of Louny Balloony dev clips again after having another busy year. I think this is the earliest one I made testing out basic collision stuff. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Jun 11 Here's an old Chainsaw Man pixel animation I did around... three and a half years ago. #pixelart

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· May 26 Haven't had the chance to really work on this lately, but wanted to take some time to shill the Louny Balloony demo!
Louny Balloony is an unique flying platformer/side-scroller being developed solely by me!

You can play Nail 'Em, a little Whack-A-Mole simulator, right now over at Newgrounds!

Harold Krell@haroldkrell· Apr 16 Old gameplay snippet of Louny. I like how this one kind of told a little story through sidescrolling with the baddies getting startled awake and running to get their own balloons. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart
