Extended thoughts

A 5 star Backloggd review for the game Rogue Flight -
Often times when I rate a game 5 stars, it's more about how well it does the one aspect it's really trying to nail down. Like a game with an incredible story in my mind can still be perfect with passable gameplay if that was never the focus. Other times I will rate a game 5 stars if the sum of its parts equal something truly special despite no particular limb being anything unique.

Rogue Flight is neither of those, it sets out to do so much in terms of story, gameplay, visuals, replayability, characters, voice acting etc and for my money completely and utterly nails everything it wants to do. No part of this game is being held up by the strengths of others. That said - I do think in order for this game to hit you like it did me, there needs to be a massive void in your life left behind trying to chase the high of certain games.

Watched all of Rooster this week and honestly, while it's a fairly low-stakes comedy / drama it does have a lot of sincerity and heart in it that made for a really enjoyable watch. Low bar points for it not doing "we assume everyone second screens TV shows" exposition dumps every 10 minutes
