Brilliant summer break. Beach week, discovery flight, aquarium, books, pinball, cookouts galore, dolphins, wild horses, downtowning, ghost walk (now with pirates!), fresh-caught seafood, movies, and a restored sense of peaceful easy feeling. Capping it off by sending them to Scotland, and wow.

With prices being what they are, I'm more grateful than ever that I have a simple meal routine. The bean pot is perking along, as it does, and the house smells delicious. White beans are a staple comfort food, and it's the best $1 lunch on the block.
