Increasingly Australian; bloody oath. Gen X-Wing. Shared my ADHD with my anchor baby.
This is anti-woke bollocks from Musk, but why don’t the right love the Nolan’s film? - the main family is white - barely any female roles - meatiest female character is a lonely old witch - the black characters all die, except one who’s identical sister dies - the useless white nepo becomes king
Movies based on these companies characters released since 1977 - Image - 15 Dark Horse - 16 Marvel Comics - 75 DC Comics - 140 . . 2000AD - 2 and a bit… So you’ll excuse me for being quite excited about hopefully seeing Rogue Trooper soon, @manmademoon.bsky.social @2000ad.bsky.social
Not only was The Expanse woke’d to the gills with incredible women is the main roles, it was also one of the best tv shows ever made!
And now for the boring cliched perspective from Australia - ‘Strewth that’s not that hot’. Of course it is very hot. But here’s what they don’t add to that. The temperature today on the Sunny Coast is 19 and it feels fucking freezing. I’m wearing a jumper!! See, we can whinge with the best of them.
Oh isn’t he just. He also drew what I’ve always felt was the greatest Dredd story, Midnight Surfer.
This feels like it’s going to be quite incredible @2000ad.bsky.social! So what was your most mind blown 2000AD and where were you? Mine is the penultimate Zenith Phase 4, with the Lloigor realising they were trapped which I gasped out loud at whilst reading it in WHSmiths in Brighton town centre.
Sod it, I’m going all in on this Ai. Starting with images, here’s my first go… be kind.
Genuine question. Has there been a greater comic than 2000AD? Honestly, you can stick your Batmen and Superdudes and Insectfellas in a sack, none of them hold a candle to the raw thrill power that Tharg and the team have come up with these past 50 years. That’s all. Move along. @2000ad.bsky.social
Shit, just realised that the little shit from that Twilight Zone episode grew up to be President of the United States. Bugger.
Was there ever a better match of novel and artist for this cover? Just utterly magnificent. My second favourite interpretation of the tripods, after Kevin O’Neill of course.
When I was 12 I wrote a short story during an English Lit exam in which the US was at war with Europe because the US was being run by a lunatic fascist president. Granted it was poorly written (I was 12), but my teacher downgraded me because it was ‘utterly preposterous’. Up yours Miss Carter!!!
