#DeckProject a third stringer is in place, and the steps have been changed from 5/4 deck boards to 2x12 pressure treated. The new stringer is still 'wet' so is a bit higher than the old ones, once it dries the bottom will be level against the concrete walk. For now, shims are leveling it.
Continuing the #DeckProject we find today was just completing the rail by the front door. I didn't like what was there, so improvement was needed to match the stairs. I don't do good at before photos, here is the best I could find, and a decent after photo. Still need to attach the post lights.
The deck rebuild project. Coming along nicely. New joist hangers, sanded the joists, joist tape to prevent further erosion. Starting putting down the new deck boards.

Deck rebuild project. First half of deck boards almost all removed. Then will replace joist hangers. Then start laying new boards on this half so u can move everything over and do the next half.

I feel like I have been struck by 3 tractor trailers. Why? Because I built a railing for my deck stairs. It took most of the day. Had to stop and rest a few times, cool off, get water, check my blood sugar. But, you know what? I did it.
