The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 7 - Demon The dungeon most know for the hungry Goriya. Link must bring him some food to continue exploring the dungeon.
Pages from Qvinta Essentia an art book featuring the work of Hitoshi Yoneda published in 1993. He's known for his iconic Phantasy Star and Sorcerian artwork. Some really beautiful work in here.
The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 6 - Dragon In my opinion maybe the hardest dungeon in the game due solely to Wizzrobes. Take a potion into this one with you. "There are secrets where fairies don't live" is the player's only in game hint at the location of the 7th dungeon.
I came across my old burned Dreamcast games. My friends and I all bought Dreamcasts after they were discontinued and we passed so many burned games around. Here's what I was left with. I'm a person that loves to have real copies of games on hand, but I feel oddly nostalgic for these discs.
This take on the original Mega Man stage select screen was a fun spread to put together, though in hindsight I wish I had given each robot master their own dedicated spread/section. There's always Mega Man 2 to fix that.
I've been picking up a few art books recently. This is Reflections by Susumu Matsushita whom you'd know from Famitsu, Maximo, Adventure Island, etc. This book rocks. Glad to have added it to my small collection.
Also, a tip I learned recently is to drop a bomb on the boss, and before it goes off, use the whistle. The bomb should explode and take out the rest of him if the timing is right.
The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 5 - Lizard This dungeon introduces passages that take Link to a different part of the map. There is also an optional bomb bag to purchase. Finding the whistle is a requirement to defeat the boss.
"Could I have finished this game on a real Genesis cartridge? Yes! But it would have taken me much longer. Unfortunately I’m not a kid in high school anymore with endless free time. Life aint getting any longer." [2/2]
Shining Force II (Sega Genesis | 1994) "Shining Force II is incredible, but heavens, do I suck at it. It is an amazing 16-bit strategy game which improves upon the original in nearly every way (unless you prefer the original game’s more streamlined approach)." [1/2]
Bought this the other day at a toy show. My favorite part is that Dracula's weakness is bad jokes.
A few close ups. -13 Sentinels, Ninten, and Lady Dimitrescu -Secret of Evermore -Indiana Jones, AVGN Bugs Bunny and Kirby escape the boulder -Brian of Quest 64
Pencil sketch collage I did for my book 202X that represents the games I played through in 2022. There's a few in here I'd like to play again.
The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 4 - Snake The first difficult dungeon along with a challenging boss. Featuring Like-Likes that eat your shield and rooms that require a light to see.
I grabbed that quote above from this write up: www.nipino.com/what-the-%E5...
The Legend of Zelda - Dungeon 3 - Manji "In Buddhist tradition, the manji represents harmony, eternity, prosperity, and the cyclical nature of life." With that out of the way, Dungeon 3 introduces Darknuts. These difficult foes can't be faced head on. The whistle can heal the Bubble's strike.
If you're having trouble nailing a particular section of Star Fox the restart option is nice. There's no punishment for using it. It doesn't cost lives, you'll retain your laser upgrades and current score if it's a check point. Took me a few tries to hit this part.
Been playing Star Fox over the weekend. This is a hell of a remake. Faithful to the original, looks amazing, plays great, and has some fun extra features. Glad I picked up a N64 pad for it too.
The large, infamously tough chasm toward the end of the map helped me figure out the scale. I was able to highlight other stages like Guts Man's mountain, Bomb Man's city and Elec Man's tower to make this world feel more cohesive. Original map for comparison was pulled from @vgmaps.bsky.social!
Drawn map of Ice Man's stage from the original Mega Man. Ice Man's stage seemingly takes place in a frozen tropical area, so I make mention in the book that this location contains a Desalination Plant and Marine Aquaculture Facility but it's also a tourist area. Ice Man in turn froze the place.
