FWIW I think Foot was worse but Corbyn was poor leader despite wild enthusiasm of his supporters. He was always happiest on the backbenches where he could indulge his campaigning and vote against his own party. Yes, he voted against Iraq war but compared to Robin Cook he was incompetent second rater

I called it a spasm. Sadly half of my family were afflicted, not so much BBC or tabloid-misled but just not thinking it through. One sister now accepts grudgingly that voting Leave while at the same time having a plan (now abandoned) to retire to sunny EU country was kinda dumb
Problem is, Starmer firmly nailed his anti-rejoin colours to Labour's mast and is now stuck. Changing tack to rejoin EU would be cynical betrayal of earlier pledges or more evidence of flip-flopping incompetence. Either way, not a great look
